✨ No better place for our pioneering methanol engines than Fugro Pioneer herself! Converting this special service research vessel to methanol is a big step towards Fugro's goal of net-zero operations by 2035 and us at Enmar Engines AB are proud to support them on that journey. We hope success of this project serves as an example across the industry and Michiel's master thesis work will inspire young naval architects beginning their careers in a significant way.
"I think this is the first offshore vessel in service that was converted to sail on methanol and it can set an example for the maritime industry " – Michiel, Naval Architect Get to know our employees and their stories 👇: https://bit.ly/3TFS8oX

❔ Why methanol? Is it safe? What do operations on methanol as fuel entail? ➡ Take a few minutes to hear Morten Gottlieb Warming-Jespersen from Teknologisk Institut, Ulrik Tander from OSK-ShipTech A/S and Kristian Korsgaard Pedersen from BunkerONE tackle these questions. 😍 Thank you Nordhavn Power Solutions A/S for producing the video and making it possible to see three perspectives on methanol applications!

The General Assembly of the Innovation Action SYNERGETICS took place in Gothenburg on June 13 and 14, hosted by ScandiNAOS AB. The progress achieved during the first 18 months of the project was on the agenda of the first day. The second day was dedicated to planning of future activities with focus on the demonstrations and development of the central SYNERGETICS tool: the Catalogue of the greening retrofit technologies. The General Assembly was crowned by the visit to the site of one of the SYNERGETICS demonstrations, the testing facility where different ways of using methanol in internal combustion engines will be analyzed. #synergetics with CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency and DST - Development Centre for Ship Technology and Transport Systems, Expertise- en InnovatieCentrum Binnenvaart, ScandiNAOS AB, MARIN (Maritime Research Institute Netherlands), viadonau, TTS (Transport Trade Services) GmbH., ZT-Kanzlei Dipl.-Ing. ✨ Welcome Oskar Thompson to the ScandiNAOS Team! We are thrilled to announce that Oskar Thompson has joined us at ScandiNAOS! Oskar has keen interest in internal combustion engines, backed with education at Chalmers within Automation and Mechatronics programme. We were lucky to meet him through his thesis collaboration with ScandiNAOS and our sister company, Enmar Engines AB, focusing on optimizing dual fuel engine for marine use. Oskar’s knowledge and hands-on experience will be a great asset to our team – contributing to greener propulsion solutions within marine industry.

📸 Here are some photos from the final presentation of the WindStruc project! 🎉 We were thrilled to host an engaging half-day seminar to conclude this project, sharing insights and fostering an open dialogue on the vital development of wind-assisted propulsion. Grateful for financial support of Swedish Energy Agency. Project Manager Bengt Ramne kicked things off by introducing the project's goals, scope, and challenges. Professors Jonas Ringsberg and Huadong Yao highlighted how initiatives like these enhance research and academic excellence at #Chalmers, bridging master programs and PhD students with the industry. Heng Zhu walked us through the academic research aspects of the project, covering torough CFD and FEM analysis. Bengt Ramne then described various engineering design spirals that ScandiNAOS AB team explored, followed by Ana Puljić presenting the final design. Nicolas Bathfield provided the shipowner's perspective, representing Stena Teknik as a key collaborator. The seminar concluded with discussions on future perspectives and the ongoing development of wind-assisted propulsion. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this event! 🚢💨 #WindStruc #WindAssistedPropulsion #Chalmers #ScandiNAOS #SustainableShipping
