🎉 Celebrating 10 Years of Raising Children’s Learning, Voices, and Agency as an IPC Charity We are excited to present Playeum’s Annual Report for FY 2023/24! With the unwavering dedication of our partners, donors, and volunteers, we have touched the lives of over 3,900 children, educators, parents, community workers, and adults who play key roles in shaping children's lives. Together, we have created impactful opportunities for them to experience the transformative power of play and the arts, and to demonstrate what child development through play can look like in communities, classrooms, and homes. The report highlights our progress in the communities we work with, underscores our strategic pillars, and celebrates the dedication of our passionate team. It also reaffirms our mission to uplift every child so they can reach their fullest potential. The future is filled with hope and excitement. The years ahead will see us deepening our collaborations across sectors and developing new pathways for capability building. Our commitment remains strong: to ensure every child has the resources, opportunities, and support to thrive and become the best versions of themselves. We invite you to take a deep dive into our year in review below! ❤️ We honour our close playful partners for joining us on this journey and placing their trust in our vision and efforts: Accenture b_together BINJAITREE Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) Common Ground Civic Centre & Consultancy Endowus Esther Joosa (PhD) (Arts of the Earth Learning Hub) Generation Coffee Singapore MANDEVILLE CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC PTE LTD Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) Ministry of Education, Singapore (MOE) Ministry of Social and Family Development, Singapore (MSF) National Arts Council National Council of Social Service (NCSS) National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) PAP Community Foundation Paper Carpenter Pte Ltd SHINE Children and Youth Services SG Enable Singapore Art Museum Singapore Pools Singapore Repertory Theatre Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) Octava Foundation Tan Chin Tuan Foundation the LEGO Group Wild Rice 🩷 Our deepest gratitude to our Board of Directors and Advisors for their leadership and invaluable guidance: Irene Liu Jennifer Loh Sumitra Pasupathy Ng Nichol Daryl Wang Charlotte Goh Sue Adams Charlotte Nors Steven Chia Jiezhen Wu Charmaine Teo Sirene Lim 林美莹 Naima Mian

Championing children of diverse backgrounds and abilities through play and the arts
About us
Playeum is an Institution of a Public Character (IPC) charity in Singapore that uses play and the arts to amplify the voices and abilities of all children, especially children from disadvantaged backgrounds and those with special needs. Through outreach & community service, Playeum creates experiences for children that build the development of transformative 21st-century life skills and their potential to contribute in their homes, neighbourhoods, schools and society at large. Playeum also works alongside their adults; parents and educators, in empowering them to be creative facilitators of their child's growth. Over the last five years, we partner communities, schools and social service agencies to impact more than 62,000 children and their adults. Playeum is a registered member of the National Council of Social Services and is supported by the MCCY Cultural Matching Fund.

Thank you Children's Museum Singapore (CMSG) for the opportunity for us to share how children's voices can shape the upcoming Children's Season 2025, following our first Children's Circle partnership to uncover what ✨Belonging✨ means to our youngest citizens. Did you know that Children’s Season (CS), a festival to encourage museum-going culture among our local community, especially young families, is now helmed by Children’s Museum Singapore? This festival brings together many Museum Roundtable (MR) members, and sees different museums coming up with creative, fun and engaging programmes and workshops over the June School holidays. In preparation for CS 2025, we held our first MR members engagement session. The session allowed us to share more in-depth about next year's festival plans and to hear from our MR members what they hope to see, as well as how they can contribute to future editions of CS. Our partner, Playeum, also shared on the focus group discussion with the Children's Circle which gave valuable insights to our members the ideas and thoughts of the children for next year's festival theme. Looking forward to Children's Season 2025! Find out more about Museum Roundtable here: https://lnkd.in/gD5wNdPd

✨We followed the Yellow Brick Road... to an afternoon of Magic, Play, and Giving! 🌈🥰 Last Sunday, we teamed up with Wild Rice once again to present our annual FUN-raising Musical Pantomime: The Wizard of Oz! Over 300 children and young-at-hearts joined us for a whirlwind adventure to Oz, bursting with laughter, boundless imagination, and delightful surprises. It wasn’t just a show; it was a joyful celebration of our incredible children and the connections we share with them. We were especially thrilled to welcome our young friends from SHINE Children and Youth Services, many of whom experienced the wonder of live theatre for the very first time. Their excitement was a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do. A heartfelt thank you to our OZ-some donors, sponsors, volunteers, and champions who continue to believe in the transformative power of play and the arts. Their support makes it possible for every child to thrive as the best versions of themselves. Our journey doesn’t end here! Our fundraising efforts are still ongoing, and you can help make a difference this Giving season. Donate today to support our mission of empowering every child through play-based learning and creative engagements in schools and in low-resourced communities: tinyurl.com/playeumgiving 🩷 All outright donations ($10 and above) to Playeum will be eligible for a 250% tax deduction and matched dollar-for-dollar by the NAC Cultural Matching Fund - which means your contribution will have twice the impact! Together, we can create the much-needed opportunities for all children to learn, grow, and thrive in Singapore. Today was Day 1 of the #G20 Global #Education Meeting in Fortaleza, Brazil. Partnering with The Brookings Institution's Centre for Universal Education on this four-part roundtable series has been a rewarding journey, sparking critical dialogue and reflection on the false dichotomy between foundational literacy and numeracy and a broader foundational skills agenda that includes socio-emotional, creative, and cognitive skills. The #UNESCO #2024 #GlobalEducationMeeting calls for multi-stakeholder engagement and collaboration to advance education as a social equaliser and driver of sustainable development. At IEFG, we were pleased to connect a diverse group of philanthropic organisations in this debate—many of whom have been working together over the past eight months in our Foundational Learning (FL) Corner. This FL Corner surfaced varied interpretations, measurements, and pressing questions about foundational learning worldwide, serving as a spark for further debate and action within the funding community. The four priorities that these funders have aligned on represent a powerful shared vision: by pulling in the same direction, we can drive far-reaching impact.
