🎉 Success in action! The 'Gender and Environment Data Conference: Advancing Gender Equality Through Strategic Data Insights' on 20 October in Cali, Colombia, was a powerful day of insights! The Conference brought together experts and advocates to advance gender equality and spotlight the vital role of gender data in environmental decision-making. The Conference was divided into three sessions. The first session focused on 'The Power of Data: Understanding the state of gender and environment data'. The second session delved into the 'Tools and Techniques: Integrating Gender into Environmental Data Systems' and the third session highlighted the 'Policy and Advocacy for Driving Transformative Change for the KM-#GBF'. A huge thank you to the esteemed speakers and everyone who made this event a success! 💚 Our Founder and Director, Mrinalini Rai, will attend the UN Convention to Combat Desertification COP16 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The UNCCD COP16 will take place from 2 to 13 December 2024, coinciding with the UNCCD's 30th anniversary. This COP will focus on accelerating action for land restoration and drought resilience through a people-centred approach. 🌿💡 Inspiration, Empowerment, and Action: My Experience at the Restore HER Rights Webinar I was privileged to attend the Restore HER Rights: Global Virtual Launch, organized by Women4Biodiversity. This incredible event featured powerful stories from organizations and women leading restoration projects across Argentina, Cameroon, Costa Rica, Kenya, Myanmar, and the Solomon Islands. Hearing directly from these women about their challenges, triumphs, and transformative work was profoundly inspiring. Their dedication to advancing restoration, biodiversity, and community well-being reminded me of the immense power of grassroots action. These stories sparked new ideas for my journey as I developed a project that aligns with biodiversity conservation and gender equality.
