Our team spent the morning at Trinity College Buwagi in Budondo as part of our ongoing #RUMPS4RuralGirls campaign in Eastern Uganda. We had insightful discussions with both boys and girls about period poverty and menstrual hygiene. We also conducted a hands-on session on making reusable pads, empowering students to take control of their menstrual health, donated over 130 fempacks to the girls and established a Menstrual Hygiene Management Club. A big thank you to our partners Stanbic Bank Uganda for their continued support in this important cause. 🚀🩸#RUMPs4RuralGirls Program inception in partnership with Stanbic Bank Uganda. Yesterday, we were at BuyalaP/s, our newest partner school. This follows a touching newspaper story of young girls resorting to soil-made pads in Busoga region. Our team picked this up and interacted with the young girls to see how we could reach more girls that faced the same menstrual injustices. Our program seeks to ensure; 🩸Menstrual education & advocacy 🩸 Access to safe products. 🚀Uninterrupted education for all girls. We are happy to partner with Stanbic Bank Uganda to see that these menstrual injustices are eradicated and that all girls can complete their education without a worry of #periodstigma, #periodshame, and #periodpoverty

Partnership Announcement 🥁 We are happy to partner with The Thinking Watermill Society to support the manufacturing of the our new product, the Dwona Fempack under the RUMPs for Rural Girls’ Program. The Dwona Fempack is a unique, environmentally sustainable menstrual product that contains 6 reusable menstrual pads, an african bag, and a menstrual user manual including a period tracker and calendar. This pack supports young girls stay in school without a worry of period poverty for up to 3 years. With the support from The Thinking Watermill Society, we have been supported with 2 industrial electrical machines to support and train 2 young women on product production and manufacturing. This is a start of a high-impact journey of ensuring 1 million girls without uninterrupted education by 2040. We are committed kicking period poverty out. Today, as we observe #WorldMenstrualHygieneDay, we want to spotlight our commitment to promoting menstrual equity through our #PeriodGiving campaign. Menstrual health is a fundamental human right, yet 500 million women and girls around the world still lack access to adequate facilities for managing their periods. This reality affects their health, education, and dignity. In Sub-Saharan Africa alone, about 28% of girls miss school during menstruation due to inadequate sanitary facilities.
