Thrilled to be part of this remarkable cohort! 🚀 The progress and developments in the Quantum Computing Space in the UK have been astounding, thanks to the efforts and collaborations seen in projects like QTAP at Digital Catapult. I'm eager to see how we continue to push the boundaries and drive innovation further. How do you see Quantum Computing evolving in the coming years? Let's discuss! #QuantumComputing #UKTech #Innovation
A bit late for the party, but I can't overlook such a significant milestone. This month at Digital Catapult was special for me because I completed one of the largest and most exciting projects in my career - the Quantum Technology Access Programme (QTAP). When Philippa Spencer-Williams brought me into this project over a year ago, it seemed overly ambitious and nearly unattainable at the time. We aimed to attract more than 10 industry end users to explore Quantum Computing. Honestly, we would've been content with 5 applications. However, we were surprised to receive over 70 ROIs and more than 35 fully submitted applications from various sectors such as energy, logistics, telecoms, aerospace & defense, and many others. We then narrowed it down to 11. Impressive! We devised a plan and, with the expertise of our Senior Quantum Computing Technologist Daniel Goldsmith, brilliant Daniela Valenzuela, and the wider QTAP team we bravely moved on to execution. The rest, as they say, is history… We delivered numerous masterclasses and education sessions, attended multiple industry events, and made connections we never thought possible, but, most importantly, we helped our programme participants develop their first real Quantum Computing use case. We bridged the gap between theory and practice, aiding businesses in solving real-world problems with the help of Quantum Computing. I'd like to acknowledge the support of the ORCA Computing and Riverlane teams - our key partners, without whom this programme wouldn't have been possible. Additionally, I'd like to thank our wider partners BT Group, PQShield, KETS Quantum Security, and Q-CTRL. Finally, hearty congratulations to our exceptional cohort of participants, including Owain Brennan 📊 from SeerBI, Christopher Bell from DNV, Clive Emary from Frazer-Nash Consultancy, Shevaan Jayasinghe from Bahut, Siti Fariya from the Port of Dover, Fazal Chaudry and Muhammad Abdullah from UK Atomic Energy Authority, Chris O'Leary from Rolls-Royce, and Steve Walker and Sophie Abrahams from Arup. They all produced great business use cases and successfully ran them on the ORCA PT-1 Quantum Computer. Special kudos go to Gabriel Blackett from Oxford Sigma, the Airbus team, and Lanval O. from Neptune NewSpace who explored a different set of Quantum Computing Use Cases - Computational Fluid Dynamics. It's been an absolute pleasure working with all of you, and I eagerly await your future advancements in Quantum Computing Space! #quantumcomputing #quantum #technology #usecases #digitalcatapult #innovation
