Glox Therapeutics is one of only a handful of companies to have been selected for PACE funding so far which is a true testament to the expertise of world-leading team. 

GLOX Therapeutics Ltd. has secured £1 million in grant funding from PACE-AMR (Pathways to Antimicrobial Clinical Efficacy), one of the UK’s largest public-private initiatives targeting early-stage antimicrobial medicines and diagnostic discovery. Glox Therapeutics is developing an entirely new class of antimicrobials based on proprietary protein bacteriocin engineering platforms. These potent therapeutics target specific pathogens, or a closely related group of pathogens, to selectively eradicate drug-resistant bacteria with unprecedented efficacy. Unlike conventional antibiotics, these do not harm the human microbiome, ensuring a more effective treatment strategy with reduced side-effects. The funding will help to accelerate the development of Glox Therapeutics’ novel antibiotics targeting drug-resistant pathogenic bacteria, Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae. Small Solutions for Big Problems in Drug Discovery and Delivery 💊 In October, I attended ELRIG UK Drug Discovery 2024 and had the pleasure of speaking to Ijeoma Uchegbu FMedSci, one of this year's keynote speakers. Ijeoma is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Nanoscience at UCL, Co-Founder and CSO of Nanomerics Ltd, and has recently been appointed President of Wolfson College, Cambridge. In her address, Ijeoma showcased how nanoparticles can be used to improve medication adherence, as well as a novel non-addictive pain product that has the potential to address the opioid crisis. "We thought enkephalin, a molecule naturally secreted in the brain, could provide pain relief without side effects..." Interested to know more?
