This week has been all about connections, conversations, and planning for the future. The highlight? Bringing the extended Chamber-wide team together to celebrate successes and shape our vision for next year. It was fantastic to meet colleagues in person (yes, they’re real!) instead of on Teams. A fun surprise was bumping into a colleague from my banking days. Who would’ve thought we’d both end up working for the same organisation years later? Small world! Back at the office, I’ve been busy working with pre-start and early-stage businesses, helping them create tailored roadmaps for their first year. Structure, achievable goals, and maintaining a work-life balance are at the heart of these plans, ensuring they start strong and sustain their momentum. On the other end of the spectrum, I’ve also had the pleasure of supporting larger businesses navigating the challenges of growth. Growth can bring growing pains, so it’s always valuable to step back, reflect on where you’ve been, and think strategically about where you’re heading. One key conversation this week has been around people. A quick skills audit and meaningful discussions about career progression can uncover hidden gems within your existing team. Sometimes, the resources you need to grow are already under your roof! Aligning your workforce with your growth strategy might mean you can support expansion without needing to recruit extensively.
