🏆 Last night, we were delighted to win the Climate Action Award at VisitScotland's Scottish #ThistleAwards National Finals! ♻️ The prestigious award, which was sponsored by LNER LIMITED, celebrated a business, event or destination that had made demonstrable progress on their climate action journey to #NetZero. 💚 We were praised for the extensive range of measures we have taken to reduce carbon emissions; working closely with staff, customers, and the wider community. 🦆 This also included our excellent application and natural strengths in science communications to different audiences, as well as the investments we’ve made in making our building more eco-efficient and our commitment to providing nature-based solutions in our wetlands. 🎤 Here’s what our Director of Experience Development Gillian Lang had to say after our win:

🙋♂️Happy #InternationalMensDay2024! At Glasgow Science Centre, we work with men's groups in our local community, like the Glen Oaks Housing Association, to get them involved in science learning and engagement in a way that lets them build new skills and have fun with their friends while doing so. These groups do invaluable work in supporting men who may be isolated or at risk of loneliness, and our partnership helps give them the opportunity to visit the Science Centre and experience new things. 🗣️ Kieran, the Project Manager from Glen Oaks Housing Association, said: "Coming to the Science Centre is an amazing opportunity for the men to get together and access workshops and learning experiences they don’t normally have; we can’t wait to come back." 🏡 To find out more about the amazing work our Community Learning and Development team does, visit: https://lnkd.in/eJimQtab Sports Forever Foundation Greater Pollok Services
