What a week! Our founder Andy Campbell touched down in Bremen for Space Tech Expo Europe as part of the 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scottish Development International delegation. The Expo was huge - starting in 2015 with half a hall, its now expanded to 4 large halls at Messe Bremen. The expo brought together some of the leading names in the European Space sector from Exolaunch to Space Inventor and there were exhibitors from the fully space ecosystem and supply chain: Comms, Ground systems, Electronic components, Mechanical, Design engineering, Facilities, Launch, Materials, Optics, Research, Satellite ops, Security, Software, Test, Military and Government - nearly 2000 exhibitors in total. 🛰️🚀🌌 There was a full conference agenda covering Industry, SmallSats, Connectivity and Tech Demos. 🌍 Tuesday evening saw a VIP reception at the Bremen Chamber of Commerce and Wednesday evening kicked off with bagpipes and Scotland's 'Whisky and Pitch' session where over 25 leading Scottish and UK companies delivered 90 second pitches to a packed room. All companies pitched incredibly well. 👏 Overall the Expo was fantastic and especially good for networking and establishing vital new contacts. From a Space Network point of view there are many opportunities to explore in support of the industry, establishing vital connections for talent and trade as well as the clear need for additional investment in the sector as it grows. It was great to meet so many people. This week will be spent catching up and following up with all we met at the Expo. Last week a cohort of Scottish space companies headed up by Scottish Development International visited Space Tech Expo Europe in the beautiful German City of Bremen. There were keynotes, panels, exhibitors and lots of networking.
