‘Showing a new side to Brian felt really interesting. Having this kind of character highlighting the dangers of the desk and not moving, rejecting that ineffectual corporate wellness culture, that all felt interesting. So he became a great character to bring that to life. Plus, seeing him in shorts is the last thing you expect.’ The team behind our recent ASICS Desk Break Gary Raucher, Alex Wood and George Bryant spoke to Contagious about Strategy and Insights behind our recent ASICS Desk Break campaign. Sharing how a sportwear brand use a cultural icon to express its brand platform to champion movement for your mind. Big thanks Manon Royet for a great interview! Read here - https://lnkd.in/ehw8iNPh

Still not over our amazing BHM celebrations. Throughout October we were joined by so many brilliant special guests: 💥Ife Awosika shared inspiration on the highs and lows of his career as Head of Music at Dice and DLT co-founder. 💥MasterChef semi-finalist Victor Okunowo multidisciplinary artist, Baraka Carberry talked creativity during a Michelin worthy luncheon courtesy of Victor. 💥We dug deep into the iconic and timeless sounds of Motown, as This Chord This Chord Club hosted a special edition for Black History Month bringing us music from the 80s, 90s and 00s. 💥Our famous in-house master mixologist Tinashe Sithole also created bespoke cocktails for our Goliners when we kicked off BHM with an office party celebrating the diverse and rich cultures that make up our BLK@Golin team within the London office. Huge thanks to everyone who made the time to join us and to the entire BLK@Golin team for organising these events down to a tee. 👏

Last week we launched Nurofen's third year of their Gender Pain Gap Index Report. The report dug into the challenges that young women face, with 81% of young women reporting having experienced pain dismissal. The report also found a fifth felt their pain impacted careers and a quarter of women started to believe their pain wasn't real. We asked Golin associate Orla McDermott, who works on the campaign, for her perspective. "The shocking disparity came to life for me when speaking to the brave women who shared their pain stories as spokespeople for the campaign. Common to all their stories were the fear that they would be thought of as dramatic and being told that the pain they experienced was an expected part of life as a woman." Is scrutiny sacrificed as we reach peak podcast? When leaders offer their longest interviews to influencers, not trained journalists, Jonathan Daly, Golin and Virgo Health Executive Director, Media & Corporate Reputation, considers how: 'Interesting as it may be to listen to leaders talk at length about Spotify playlists, their upbringing or the possibility of life on Mars, scrutiny undoubtedly suffers as a result.'

Golin and Virgo brought together talent from across the IPG network and the creative sector yesterday to round off Black History Month with a celebration of heritage and creativity. MasterChef semi-finalist, Victor Okunowo and multidisciplinary artist, Baraka Carberry, joined our very own Fehintola Betiku for a lunchtime event that fed our bodies, minds and souls with great cuisine and conversation.
