After advising on the pre-acquisition surveys and dilapidations matters, TMD are delighted to be acting on behalf of Tritax Group, for the significant refurbishment project to reinstate the 225,000ft2 former COVID testing laboratory building to warehouse use. TMD are undertaking the project management, employer’s agent and architectural roles. Between 2021 and 2023, this facility processed significant quantities of COVID samples which is now, thankfully, surplus to requirements. The works include the fully internal strip out of the laboratories along with the significant external plant and outbuildings, over-cladding the roof, over-spraying the elevations and full internal refurbishment of both the warehouse and office areas. The building is targeted to achieve an EPC A rating and BREEAM Very Good. Works have commenced on site and we are now a month into the project. It's great to see the progress already being made during our recent site inspection. KJ Tait partnered with CBRE and the The British Library on one of the UK's largest solar thermal installations. Funded by Salix, this project optimises year-round heating, especially during summer, for humidity control in book storage. The installation promises significant energy savings and sustainable benefits. Completed in August 2023, it’s now being gradually brought online. CIBSE as our chartering body plays an important roll within our industry, the dinner is key in connecting professions across our multi-disciplinary sector. This is also a fantastic opportunity to collectively celebrate and learn more about all the important work the CIBSE Benevolent Fund provides.
