Some signs you might need some support from the people around you: It’s important to check in with yourself to know if you need a little extra help from those around you. If you notice these signs early, you can get the support you need before things become more difficult. 1. Difficulty controlling your emotions 🤯 You might be finding that you are getting angry, upset or overwhelmed more easily than usual. Your loved ones might have noticed that your mood seems to change more often than usual throughout the day. It’s important not to be hard on yourself if you are experiencing this, as it will only make you feel worse. Being honest with your loved ones about your heightened emotions might help you to deal with them, and might avoid unnecessary conflict that could arise because of them. 2. Sleep disturbances 😴 If you’re sleeping a lot more or a lot less than usual, your body is likely to be dysregulated and this could be a sign of mental distress. You can try to manage this yourself by setting a strict bedtime and wake time to stick to, and putting effort into your ‘wind down’ and ‘wake up’ routines. This will be different for everyone so find what works for you! 3. Over socialising, or not socialising at all 💃🏼 You will usually be able to tell whether your behaviour is out of character. Some people retreat from their social circle when they are struggling, and others keep their minds busy by constantly being social. Try to check in with yourself by thinking about how you feel about social situations at the moment. Do they fill you with dread? Or do you feel a strong urge to make as many social plans as possible, more regularly than you usually would? 4. Lacking in motivation 📚 Are you struggling to complete tasks and don’t have any focus? Is this out of the ordinary for you? If you can relate to 3 or more of these early warning signs, it's a good idea to check in with the people closest to you and ask for the help you need. You might just want someone to be aware of what's going on, or you might need some help to get back on your feet. Try sitting with yourself and writing down what is on your mind. It's OK if it's nothing specific, as mental ill health isn't always triggered by something. It might help to go through this with a loved one when you feel up to it. Remember: tackling mental ill health together is always a better option 💙 #SupportNetwork #MentalHealthAwareness

A reminder that you're only as strong as the support network around you. Many of us feel disconnected from our communities when our mental health is poor. It can be isolating to feel as though no one understands what you're going through, and it can feel too overwhelming or awkward to reach out and ask for help from loved ones. If you're supporting someone who is struggling with their mental health, it can be difficult to know how to check in with them and to offer your support. It can also be stressful not knowing how they're doing each day, and feeling as though you don't fully know how to help them. Kibou brings you and anyone you care about together, to tackle these problems within personal communities. You can give and receive support at any time, from anywhere. Download Kibou for free today and create your support circle. Understanding, connection, support and reassurance available at the touch of a button. 💌 #MentalHealthAwareness #Support #Connection #MentalHealthMatters #EndTheStigma #Community

Today marks the beginning of #Movember. The month raises awareness of the 3 key areas of mens' health that need more support: Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, Prostate Cancer and Testicular Cancer. Movember exist to help men live happier, healthier, longer lives, and this month gives you an opportunity to support their cause. You don't have to grow a mo to save a bro. You can donate at https://lnkd.in/esJYR4zA, host a fundraising event, or run or walk 60km in November to signify the 60 men lost to suicide across the world each day. We have some exciting things coming up this month in support of Movember, alongside our friends at Mo Rugby FC. Stay tuned 👀 #MensHealth #MentalHealthAwareness

Think you're a good listener? 👂 Chances are, you could improve on your skills. Listening is a crucial component to supporting someone, and is often overlooked. Whether you're tackling a conversation about mental health in the workplace, or trying to help someone you love, making sure you are truly listening can make that person feel validated, understood, and truly supported. Next time you head into a conversation where good listening skills are vital, remember these 3 pointers: 👉 Give them your full attention 👉 Understand what they need 👉 Ask questions What else do you think is important to remember when actively listening to someone? #listening #mentalhealthawareness #supportnetwork

Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay. There will be a lot of noise online about how important today is, which can often make it difficult to hear properly. We’re cutting through that noise for you, and giving you the facts. 1 in 5 UK employees took stress-related leave last year. Drop us a DM if you want to find out how we can make a true impact with personalised mental health support in your organisation. Kibou can’t solve the whole problem, but we are making a big dent in it for users and their loved ones. Trigger warning: Discusses themes around mental health and suicide that you may find distressing

Just like gym memberships, mental health support shouldn’t cost the earth. We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Fitness4less and Welcome Gym today, which provides members with access to annual Kibou Pro subscriptions. Both brands have shown real dedication to delivering our message, and championing the use of support networks to help ourselves through our everyday. Now, members can prioritise their mental health at the same time as their physical health - from the gym, work, at home, or whenever they need support from those closest to them. This is the future of self-care. Interested in how we could bring this message to life in your organisation?
