The film was created in partnership with The Mighty Creatives and Casey Francis of Madtruth Productions. The project was funded by People's Postcode Lottery through our Exhibit project and The Blagrave Trust through our Joining up Joining in participation group. A big thank you to Two Queens Gallery & Studio for providing us with a local, affordable and impactful filming location. We are so proud of this film and moreso our young people who were involved from inception to edit. This film (and the making of it) truly shows partnership working at its best to improve the lives of disadvantaged young people . Last night, together with our members, partners and friends, we celebrated #YouthWorkWeek and the positive impact of youth work on the lives of young Londoners. A huge thank you to our members Jigsaw4u, Young Urban Arts Foundation (YUAF) and Lewisham Music who took to the stage to showcase their outstanding work and to the talented young people who captured the room with their incredible performances. Our Chef Executive, Pauline Daniyan, shared:  “Like you, I will always bring it back to the young people we are trying to support. When we think about what funding the sector needs, what recognition, what support, it’s not about what we need, it’s about what outcomes we can secure for London’s young people. So, this evening I am acknowledging how hard this work is, how challenging it has been and will continue to be. But also how important, how valuable, and how vital this work is. Yesterday we welcomed over 500 delegates to our first #JoinedUpSummit! It was fantastic to have so many young people, funders, leaders and policy makers from youth-facing sectors across the UK all in one space to connect. Together we explored what’s working and started to drive forward cross sector collaboration to better support young people. 👏 A huge thank you our keynote speaker Children's Commissioner for England and everyone who ran a session at the event: Youth Futures Foundation, Right To Succeed, Coach Core Foundation , Children in Wales - Plant yng Nghymru, The #iWill Movement#iWill Movement, NCS - National Citizen Service Trust, Leap Confronting Conflict, Youth Endowment Fund, Children and Young People's Mental Health Coalition (CYPMHC), OnSide, #BeeWell and Reach Foundation. ✨ And a special thank you to our founding supporters Youth Futures Foundation, Prudence Trust, NCS - National Citizen Service Trust, Osborne Clarke, Big Change, The Blagrave Trust and KKR. ❤️ Finally, a massive thank you to all the young people who were involved in the planning and who came to share their voice with us - we couldn't have done it without you! Super late posts about my #UNGA experience. The recent glocal occurings have brought up some memory notes and I’m reminded that I’m fortunate to still hope and trust. 👁️The Pollyoppourtunity event hosted by House of Beautiful Business x Acosta Institute was a beautiful reminder for me to focus on AWE. So much of what is used to prompt behaviour change is wedged in guilt and shame. What if we located our sense of AWE instead? We have all experienced moments of awe, - what are we in awe of, that moves us to act in love, and justly? I’m always in awe of Wakanyi Hoffman’s wisdom and insight she generously shares on weaving Ubuntu principles into AI and Tech systems. 🪡 👁️ Futures Thinking and Strategic Foresight to Safeguard Future Generations event hosted by United Nations learning about powerful examples of how futures and anticipatory tools have been used in Kenya, Colombia, Wales, Spain and within the UN System to support transformative development across civil society and initiated policy changes that centre people and planet. I’m becoming increasingly curious about futures and foresight practice as a tool to cultivate both hope and rigour to prepare for the best and the worst. As someone who grew up in Wales, meeting the Derek Walker The Commissioner of Future Generations for Wales was awesome + connecting with other foresight practitioners. 👁️ Resourcing young people’s futures funded roundtable hosted by the The Blagrave Trust and Paul Hamlyn Foundation - I valued hearing about the alternative economic models for youth being explored with these platforms and intergenerational kinship models as an accountability tool for young people’s hopes and dreams for the future. 👁️Multilateralism in an Era of Global Oligarchy hosted by Oxfam x Ford Foundation: Reinforced for me how much we have to uplift narratives that resist the notion that there’s no other way. 🚀 Unleashing the power within our community! 🚀 A huge thank you to everyone who joined our funder roundtable and launch of our report on ‘People, Power and Place’, which is a summary evaluation of our Participatory Grant Making (PGM) programmes over the last 6 years. Yesterday's event brought together a fantastic mix of funders, residents, and community changemakers to explore our PGM journey and its transformative impact for our community, for our organisation and for the resident panellists. At the roundtable, we dove into key discussions on PGM's strengths and challenges, its relationship with traditional funding methods, and the growing appetite to embrace community-led approaches.  We were also inspired by reflections from some of our brilliant resident panellists: ✨ “It gave us agency to make changes. I was around like-minded individuals who wanted social change. It was very, very interesting, and a rewarding role…” – Izzy, former Young Grant Maker and YGM lead  ✨ “I needed a reason to get out of the house... My voice was heard and valued. I feel like the knowledge I had in the borough; I could use it to change it in some way. After the project, my life got better.” – Carly, former Family Panel member  ✨ “What I liked about it was the positivity... I didn’t realise how many wonderful small charities and groups were doing incredible things in Islington.
