In support of World Suicide Prevention Day we have partnered with Ripple Suicide Prevention Charity and The Burnt Chef Project in a joint campaign to look to make a difference in our industry, including 5 simple actionable commitments for employers within the sector to pledge to - https://lnkd.in/e27UqP4c We know the hospitality industry is built on providing others with joyful experiences, and that pubs, bars and restaurants are some of the most fun and rewarding places to work. As custodians of great places to work, we know it is incumbent upon us to be bold enough to acknowledge the challenges our teams face and to establish the appropriate safeguards and support where possible. We don’t have all of the answers, but we’re prepared to start somewhere. RBG has the R;pple software on our internal WiFi network across all bars protecting any device, laptop or mobile connected. Further, we have over 160 internal graduates of MHFA England® and have recently introduced a wellbeing provision offering up to 8 face-to-face counselling sessions for every colleague in the business via our benefit partner Hospitality Rewards. We are proud to be leading the call for action within Hospitality and implore all of our industry partners to engage in the conversation and consider implementing R;pple’s simple tool to protects people from harmful online content when they are at their most vulnerable. R;pple Suicide Prevention commissioned a recent study and found: 1 in 2 hospitality workers have thought of suicide, self-harm or other harmful, negative thoughts; 55% of those who are or have experienced mental health conditions have also searched for harmful content online whilst in their workplace, with almost a fifth (19%) having done so multiple times; 34% of hospitality workers do not think there is enough support provided in the industry to support their mental wellbeing. Revolution Bars Group, R;pple and The Burnt Chef Project will also be hosting a panel talk and Q&A to ignite conversation and change and help reduce the stigma around suicide. Taking place on 30th September in central London, the panel will draw upon their own experiences in the industry with powerful stories to tell. Link to sign-up to attend the free event is here - https://lnkd.in/ey_PDRDW #DitchtheStigma #SuicidePrevention #WorldSuicidePreventionDay

Ramadan Mubarak! - Blessed Ramadan! You may be aware that we're in the month of Ramadan and we wanted to share with you a little info to help understand more if you're curious as to why Muslims in your team or social circles have been fasting in the past few weeks. Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar and is said to be the month that the Qur'an was revealed to the prophet Muhammad, so it has a special significance to Muslims. Muslims will fast during daylight hours in the month of Ramadan and it is one of the 5 pillars of Islam along with faith, prayer, charity and pilgrimage. It happens 11 days earlier every year, so not always in March/April, as it's based on Lunar month's that are shorter than solar months, so it falls a little kinder this year in terms of fasting during daylight hours! As we approach the end of Ramadan we asked our Area Manager, Hamza Durrani to help explain what it is, and what it means to him and for Muslims. Thanks for your time and insight Hamza Durrani! #Hospitality #Inclusion #Faith #Ramadan #Fasting

Today, on #InternationalWomensDay, we’re celebrating the impacts of all of our women within RBG who contribute to our success every day. From our dedicated teams to our inspiring leaders, we recognise and appreciate the invaluable role that they play in shaping our journey! As we take stock, we're proud to share that over half of our executive team comprises talented women. Their leadership and vision drive our success every day. We're also very fortunate that, as well as continuing to nurture our Revolucion De Cuba brand, our Brand Ops Director, Alex McMillan is leveraging her excellence and innovation to grow and shape our Revolution brand too! And while we're reflecting on the #InvestInWomen theme of IWD, our commitment to investing in women's growth and development shines through our HIPO (High Potential) General Manager intake. Here’s what some our GMs said about the course: Lianne Sargent – HIPO GM – Peach Pubs – The White Lion It’s great to work with people, who have diverse views and personalities that contrast my own, and gain feedback and insight that you don’t always get until you go through development processes like the HIPO GM course. It’s been great to see that Peach Pubs and RBG have the same values and want the same thing, and the acquisition has made the opportunities for us bigger, especially in terms of personal growth with the HIPO course. We really embrace and celebrate our focus on female empowerment and inclusion – it’s great that we can shout about it! Katy Larsen-McHugh – HIPO GM – Revolution Liverpool Albert Dock Being a full time working mum in hospitality, it has come with its challenges in navigating the right work life balance, but Revolution have enabled me to find that balance, and also including me in the progress of our new enhanced maternity package are all vital steps towards more women in leadership. I’ve seen significant differences in our culture over the last few years, and programs like our HIPO are developing much needed pathways for growth, progression and succession. As one of the themes for International Women’s Day, is ‘Inspire Inclusion’, I think it’s a timely reminder to us all to continually learn and educate ourselves on ways we can include and be included. For our business to grow and thrive, we need diversity of thought and innovation. Happy International Women’s Day!! As we mark this day, we continue our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of gender, feels empowered to thrive and succeed. Together, we can grow our positive culture and create a more equitable future for all! #InternationalWomensDay #InvestInWomen #InclusiveLeadership #Equality #InspireIncluion
