Sustainably produced & award-winning crisps.

About us

Finally we can crunch with a conscience... We are proud to be the UK’s first sustainable crisp brand. Our packets are 100% compostable and will break down in a home composting unit in just under 26 weeks! We produce delicious hand-cooked crisps using potatoes that we grow, harvest, store, cook and pack on our farm in Herefordshire, all while using renewable energy that we generate. Our crisps are flavoured using local ingredients and showcase some of the best flavours that Herefordshire and the surrounding counties have to offer. As seen on: - Sky News - Reuters - ITV Tonight - BBC Countryfile - BBC Farmers Country Showdown Awards: - Countryside Alliance Rural Oscars - Rural Enterprise National Champion - The International Food Tech 500 - 114th place - 4 Great Taste Awards - BBC Good Food - Producers Bursary Award - The Veggie Awards - Three Counties Farming Award

The 2024 potato harvest is nearly complete! Despite a year of unpredictable weather and plenty of rain, our team has been working hard for months to bring in the crop. All the potatoes used in our hand-cooked crisps are grown within a 2-mile radius of our production facility, ensuring the freshest ingredients with minimal food miles. Harvested and graded on-site, these spuds will soon be transformed into the delicious, award-winning crisps you and your customers love. Keep an eye out for our latest batches hitting shelves near you soon! 🥔✨ #harvest #potatoharvest

COMING SOON: Our Next Generation of Compostable Crisp Packets! 🌱 🤩 What makes our packaging truly unique is its ground-breaking compostable film, which fully breaks down into water, biomass, and carbon dioxide in just 26-38 weeks, leaving absolutely no trace on the planet. 🌍 Even the ink and glue we use are plant-based and biodegradable, ensuring every element is as eco-friendly as possible. The remnants of our crisps inside our packs actually help speed up the composting process - whereas a typical plastic packet needs to be fully washed out before it's added to any soft plastic recycling at the supermarkets. Since our launch six years ago, we’ve been proud to lead the way in sustainable snacking, now producing up to 20,000 packets a day to meet the growing demand for planet-friendly options. We're proud of the revolution we've sparked in the crisp industry - an industry that we felt needed to be more sustainable. If you're looking to offer your customers snacks that are delicious and environmentally responsible, let’s chat about how our award-winning, hand-cooked crisps can find a spot on your shelves! 📞  01989 253133 📥  sales@twofarmers.co.uk #compostablepackaging #sustainable #sustainability #compostable #sustainablefoodpackaging

The Government's new EPR Scheme (Extended Producer Responsibility) will be launched in April 2025, and with less than six months to go, the information available for businesses to understand the new rules is vague. Last week, Sean spoke to Tammy Gooding on BBC Hereford and Worcester about the impact this has on us here at Two Farmers, as sustainable producers of crisps and cider. If you missed this, you can listen to the discussion via the link below at 3:24. If you're a business also going to be impacted by the new EPR Scheme, we'd love to hear from you. Share your thoughts with us in the comments. ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/eKz92234 #extendedproducerresponsibility #sustainability #sustainableproducer

Recycling logos and claims may seem helpful, but they often leave consumers confused about what can actually be recycled. 🤔 ♻️ Take crisp packets, for example. The vast majority are made of mixed materials that can’t easily be processed by standard recycling facilities, which can lead to individuals placing these items in recycling bins, only for them to end up in landfills anyway. It's a fact that recycling cannot make plastic circular and the majority of plastic packaging cannot and will not be recycled. Only 9% of plastic ever produced has been recycled; the rest is incinerated, landfilled, or sadly dumped into the environment*. However, as with most plastic, that 9% cannot be recycled into the same type; it can only be downcycled into lower-quality material and will eventually end up in landfill. At Two Farmers, we’ve taken a different approach. Instead of relying on misleading recycling labels, we’ve developed 100% compostable packaging made from plant-based materials. Unlike typical crisp packets, our packaging breaks down fully in just 26–38 weeks, leaving behind no harmful residues or microplastics. 🌎 As more customers seek plant-friendly whilst out and about, why not offer them our hand-cooked crisps in 100% compostable packaging? Get in touch today to learn more about stocking our sustainable range! 📞 01989 253133 📥 info@twofarmers.co.uk Source: Science.org April, new rules come into force to make producers pay the full cost of recycling the products they sell. "EPR Scheme - extended producer responsibility" We're trying to work out where we'll be because we are compostable - are we going to be low or high on the scale? #recycling #recycle #compostablepackaging #sustainablesnacks
