Recently, Vitiligo Allies took another step in our mission to create spaces for reflection, connection, and growth. We partnered with Tales to Inspire to host a self-acceptance workshop at x+why in Manchester—a session filled with open conversations, shared experiences, and powerful insights. Our Co-founder Reuben K Sam shared how vitiligo has shaped not only his personal journey but also the heart of Vitiligo Allies. The goal? To empower those living with #vitiligo and educate others about the beauty of diversity and self-acceptance. Workshops like these are a reminder that self-acceptance isn’t a destination—it’s a process we all navigate, and it’s easier when we do it together. A huge thank you to Krish Patel and the team at Tales to Inspire, and to everyone who joined us for making this a meaningful and inspiring experience.

✨Last week, Vitiligo Allies proudly took the stage at the 'This Can Happen' Global Conference🌐 As a venture dedicated to educating and empowering people about vitiligo, it was an honour to represent this important cause alongside +100 professionals committed to workplace well-being. Our co-founder, Reuben K Sam, shared insights on how vitiligo impacts mental health, shedding light on the need for awareness and education. 🙏We are deeply grateful to Zoe Sinclair, and the THIS CAN HAPPEN team for believing in our mission and providing a platform to amplify our message. Why this matters? ✅ A well-informed workplace can prevent stigma and foster empathy. ✅ Supporting colleagues with visible (or invisible) conditions makes a world of difference. ✅ Investing in education today leads to a healthier, more inclusive culture tomorrow. We want to thank the participants for taking steps to educate themselves about vitiligo and for committing to creating better environments for their teams. Your efforts can transform lives. A single colleague's empathy can turn someone's day or career, around. 💼When employers invest in well-being, they build not just better teams but better futures. To all the amazing speakers, thank you for the inspiration. At Vitiligo Allies, we’re on a mission to bring more education about vitiligo to workplaces across the country. Let’s work together to ensure your team is informed and equipped to support one another. After all, challenges may arise, but preparation can make all the difference. PSA: All champions of diversity and inclusion! 🚨 📚6 different stories 🌍4 continents represented ⌚2 hours spent together 🏆1 shared vision Yesterday marked a milestone as we hosted the very first "vi-TEA-ligo" ☕meetup in Manchester. After an initial setback, this gathering was exactly what I was hoping for. With the solid support of Nirjeet Singh Gorvara (thevitiligosikh) and The Vitiligo Society we turned the vision into reality. 🙌I want to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who shared our posts and helped spread the message. Your contribution made the difference. Exactly as planned, we spent quality time exchanging stories, learning from each other's experiences, and getting useful insights. Our discussions were wide-ranging, covering the viewpoints of those living with vitiligo, curious parents, and family members seeking understanding. 📸The photos speak volumes about the connections we established and the community we're building. Looking back at my childhood, this was not there and even now, the absence of a safe space offline for sharing experiences with vitiligo, wasn’t there. That's why we created this meetup—to offer support and solidarity. Now, people with vitiligo have a safe space to connect and share, ending the isolation many feel. Nirjeet, thank you for joining forces with me to raise awareness here in Manchester. This is just the beginning of our journey. ❓Let me ask you a question: Does living with vitiligo weigh heavily on you and those around you? Our mission is bigger than just educating and or pointing you in the right direction—it's about building confidence, pride, and acceptance. Can we spread this confidence to the north together? For support and guidance on vitiligo, reach out to myself, Nirjeet, or the Vitiligo Society UK. We are creating a more inclusive Manchester 🐝🌆 Will you join us? #manchester #vitiligo #community #networking #awareness #mentalhealth #support

Earlier this year, to ignite awareness, the Vitiligo Allies Team participated in the #LetsTalkVitiligo campaign with The Vitiligo Society, confirming that at least 1 in 100 individuals have Vitiligo, if not more. Watch the video to learn more about this important initiative. The insights from the largest-ever UK survey shed light on the impact of this condition on mental health and stress the critical need for enhanced access to healthcare support. The longer video can be watched here on YouTube https://lnkd.in/eHKrNwTp Creating safe spaces where individuals affected by vitiligo can share their stories and feelings openly is essential for fostering a supportive environment. Education about vitiligo is crucial for dispelling misconceptions, eradicating stigma, and cultivating empathy and understanding.
