It’s all about good people doing good work, great meeting you yesterday. Thank you for the shout out and kind words. Looking forward to creating change together in 2025
Youth culture is continuously evolving, and the mainstream media market usually fails to keep up. Not just in terms of content and medium selection, but with corporate and organisational structure also. So yesterday I went along to the UK Culture Upfronts at the Soho Theatre in London to see what’s what and get a sense of what we can expect in 2025 🔥 Young Creators UK is a DEEP breath of fresh air; reimagining how creativity works with underrepresented young people by giving them ownership and equity of the business. The impact of that empowerment is very clear to see, Christoff Taylor’s team were visibly motivated and evidently proud to be part of something so positively creative, it was so cool to see ✨ GenBTV - Generation Black TV on the other hand is a groundbreaking channel dedicated to the global black community that is setting a new standard for diversity and inclusion in the entertainment industry. The clips I saw on their showreel were pure 🔥 and the tech that underpins their digital ad offering is second to none. Christopher Kenna is doing major things there, the future is bright, a top host too! All City Media Solutions understands all of the above ☝️. Their approach and service offering is contemporary, considered, and cuts through a lot of the media sales BS that claims to have the same type of effective reach. Championing chicken shops = understanding an undeniable corner stone of UK youth culture. Stephen Waller thanks again for your support 💪 Shoutout also to Collette Philip for the critical work Brand by Me is doing to help organisations embed equity, anti-racism and anti-oppression into the heart of their brands. And to Caroline Fenner and PinkNews for successfully creating a global content platform that leads the way in gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender news. I left feeling refreshed, inspired and reassured that there are organisations and above all individuals, who are seriously committed to creating well considered, inclusive legacies for all the right reasons. Did I mention I met Lisa Maffia and Romeo from So Solid? 😆❤️👌 Have a great weekend all ONWARDS 💪 #ukculture #mediaevent #youthculture #diversityandinclusion #youthempowerment #medialandscape #london #strongertogether
