This year’s annual meeting of the American Society of Human Genetics in Denver will be massive, and among the thousands of researchers and clinicians in attendance will be a crew of scientists from 23andMe. These meetings always cover a lot but typicalLY have themes. Some of the talks, presentations, and abstracts this year will focus on health equity in genomics, using genetics for insights into cancer treatments, and strategies for using genetic discoveries for drug discovery. Check out Wednesday’s platform talk on "Genetic Approaches Informing Drug Targets and Mechanism," where Chris Eijsbouts, a 23andMe postdoctoral fellow in statistical genetics, will present our Therapeutics team's paper highlighting how using human genetic data can double or triple the success rate of drug development. Our team also has several posters exploring a range of other topics including rare variant burden testing, copy number variation and disease, and genetic variation and height.
