Excited to receive this award from Taylor Geospatial Institute and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to advance GenAI models for future land cover projections to support sustainable land use planning and climate resilience strategies. This will be a collaborative project between Clark Center for Geospatial Analytics and Washington University in St. Louis working with Nathan Jacobs, Sam Khallaghi, Srikumar Sastry, and @Daniel Cher.
Determined to advance the use of #generativeAI for #geospatial, we partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to launch a Challenge that awards $1 million in AWS credits for novel, collaborative projects that fuse those technologies. The response was immense, with 55 teams of 206 geospatial scholars, practitioners, and entrepreneurs submitting imaginative proposals for using generative AI and geospatial to solve real-world problems. Today we are proud to announce twelve amazing awardees. 🎉 #Prithvi Geospatial Foundation Model v2 is out. Excited to have worked with this amazing and talented group to develop and apply the global version of Prithvi model. Check out the model, demo and datasets on our HuggingFace repository: https://lnkd.in/gMBCrE_2 #GeoAI #RemoteSensing #GeospatialAnalytics
Excited to announce the release of Prithvi Geospatial Model V2 for Earth Observation! Version 2.0 builds on community feedback to make significant improvements for diverse applications. The new model is trained on NASA's Harmonized Landsat Sentinel-2 (HLS) global dataset (2015–2024), utilizing an updated sampling strategy that incorporates diverse land uses and ecosystems worldwide. It also uses sequences of four timestamps (1–6 months apart) to better capture temporal dynamics. We have benchmarked it on the GEO-Bench evaluation framework using 12 different applications. A huge shoutout to the entire team: #IBM #NASAIMPACT #JullichSuper Computing. Special thanks to our science collaborators at #ClarkUniversity, #OregonState, #NASA/MSFC, #ASU and #BostonUniversity for their invaluable contributions! #ClarkCGAInTheNews 📰 | Two weeks ago, we had the privilege to welcome a delegation from Esri on campus. In a series of different events, the representatives of Clark CGA's key partner engaged with Clark's staff, faculty, and students to learn more about Clark-based research, share advice to those who are thinking of pursuing a career in GIS and Geo AI, and networked with members of the Center. Jim Keogh, from Clark Now, shares a glimpse of the important moments from Esri's visit. To learn more, click here (https://lnkd.in/ex5vWcHS)
