IDOT is committed to creating safe and reliable transportation options in Illinois. To support this effort, the agency is investing $24 million in funding for electric vehicle charging stations through the Illinois NEVI Program. This second round of funding will offer approximately 20 awards, with the goal of enhancing EV infrastructure by 2030. Selected sites will feature at least four fast-charging ports for electric vehicles. Applications are due by Dec. 17 along with an informational webinar to take place on Nov. 21.
