  • This month, the LK Class of 2025 stepped back to the classroom and learned about the current climate of K-12 public education in our community and state. They also had the opportunity to hear about a few of the postsecondary education opportunities offered in our region. Tribe 3, the Transplats, presented their Pillar Talk on what it means to be a skilled communicator and class members were able to hear from representatives from Knox County, Pelissippi State, and South College. - Of course, we couldn't provide these opportunities to our class without the support of our sponsors and LK Alumni who volunteer their time to be with our Flagship Class. Huge thank you to our program sponsor TVA and our session sponsors Clayton Bradley Academy and South College. Also, a huge thank you to Pellissippi State for hosting us for the morning portion of our session!

  • Last month, LK Flagship 2025 completed their session all about Healthy Living. Class members had the opportunity to complete ride-a-longs with the Knoxville Police Department and the Knox County Sheriff's Department and share their experiences with Chief Paul Noel (LK 23) and Sherrif Tom Spangler (LK 20). They also had the opportunity to hear from leaders who have dedicated their lives to caring for our community, including a panel of LK alumni who care for the most vulnerable. - LK 25 also had the opportunity to hear from their classmates, the We The People tribe, all about Pillar 2: Putting People First. Liz Stowers (LK 14) spoke to the class about Tribal Leadership and Dr. Steve Joiner from Lipscomb University walked through conflict management and cross-sector collaboration with them. - This session wouldn't be possible without our speakers, our hosts at the Public Safetly Complex, and of course, our sponsors. Huge thank you to our Program Sponsor TVA and our Session Sponsor the IT Company!

Also, a shoutout to 40th Anniversary Committee Chair Susan Dakak (LK 2016) and Owner of Yassin's Falafel House Yassin Terou (LK 2022) for reminding us of the significance of breaking bread and taking care of our community. - This event wouldn't have been possible without the support of our sponsors, community partners, and volunteers. A huge thank you to all who made it happen! We are also incredibly grateful for our LK alumni who stepped up and brought the extra lunches to our neighbors affected by Hurricane Helene in Newport, TN. The Servant Leadership that was shown by our community last Monday is truly inspiring!
