During the conversation, Marquis reflected on his legendary career, shared insights from his personal journey, and spotlighted the impactful initiatives of the Marquis Grissom Baseball Association and his work with the MLB Develops program. In honor of National Girls & Women in Sports Day, MLB’s Baseball & Softball Development department hosted two incredible events today: This afternoon, girls from P.S. 111 Adolph S. Ochs participated in a special PLAY BALL event with softball legends & MLB’s youth softball ambassadors Jennie Finch and Natasha Watley. In addition, more than 70 women working in all areas of baseball and softball, at both MLB and our Clubs, were VIP guests at our office. For the third consecutive year, the special gathering celebrated women with panel discussions, workshops, and an opportunity to network with MLB officials working in various capacities. We were proud to celebrate the girls and women who play and work in the game we all love. #NGWSD #MLBTogether

Today, we announced that Uzma Rawn Dowler has been promoted to Chief Marketing Officer, starting in January 2025, reporting to MLB Deputy Commissioner, Business and Media Noah Garden in her new role. Rawn will now lead MLB’s global marketing efforts partnering with league executives across all operations, revenue and technology departments and the 30 MLB Clubs to help present Baseball to its fans, grow the sport, and reach new audiences. The 2024 Championship Season marked Rawn’s 10th at MLB, where she most recently held the title of Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Partnerships, and she will continue to oversee the global corporate partnerships team. On Monday, the MLB Jewish Community Group hosted its second annual Chanukah Party at MLB Headquarters, which brought together members of the Jewish community and allies to celebrate the upcoming Festival of Lights. This fun, cultural celebration included a variety of tasty and cherished holiday treats, including potato latkes, jelly donuts, and chocolate coins coupled with the sharing of family traditions and special Chanukah memories by several MLB employees. Thank you to the MLB Jewish Community Group co-chairs, Jessica Levy, Zack Raab, Daniel Egel-Weiss, and Andrew Blum, for coordinating the special event in anticipation of the holiday beginning next week. #MLBJewishCommunity #HappyChanukah #MLBTogether

This holiday season, Major League Baseball employees have been participating in multiple initiatives under the MLB Together platform to give back to the New York City community. MLB linked up with the Variety Boys & Girls Club in Queens, New York, to fulfill a Wishlist from the kids in their programming. Gifts included a skateboard, art sets, Legos, and more. Employees also volunteered to host a holiday party at the Boys & Girls Club with food, games, a magic show, and even a visit from Santa who delivered the gifts to the children. MLB also partnered with New York Cares as a part of their Sports Coalition to collect coats from employees to be donated to New Yorkers who need it most. For the second year, all New York sports leagues and teams came together to participate in the coat drive and support New York Cares in their programming to help those facing hardship during the winter months. #MLBTogether
