  • We once started a December webinar blaring this song as everyone entered the Zoom room. Cindy Skalicky 🔷 had it up loud. The purpose was to get people in a good mood, and as we watched the faces of everyone while the song played, it became an interesting experiment of nonverbal communication... Beautiful, uplifting music stirs the soul and you just can't help it. 🔴 At first, a few people weren't sure, a little wiggling in their seats. 🟡 More participants entered and began to smirk and smile, putting others at ease as Andy Williams undeniable CHEER - and his EPIC brass section in the song - swelled to a crescendo. 🟢 The song played to the very end, and the final downbeat is fantastic - it's so big and loud and FINAL - and by then? OUR holiday cheer was GAME ON. We totally got everyone in that Zoom room from the red light of "I'm not sure…" To the green light of "Aw yeah- let's Go!" It was one of our most memorable icebreakers for online events that year. Today's challenge: Hit PLAY on this song now - as you Christmas shop, cookie bake and unwind before football games start on TV - and observe how your mood changes. Music: Balm for the holiday soul! #Holiday #Webinar #Leadership #Happiness https://lnkd.in/gyvSb4Zx

CEO CO-WY Climate Resilience Engine🔹 Championing Innovation and Growth in the Startup Ecosystems

After a marathon of high-intensity development over the past few months, the National Science Foundation (NSF) CO-WY Engine has officially launched our new grant program. This inaugural program supports Colorado and Wyoming-based research and development teams and startups around climate resiliency technologies. The Innosphere team started this journey in March when we were awarded funding by the National Science Foundation (NSF), and by July, we had: ✍️Designed the Program: Creating a clear and effective process, from the application website to forming a Research and Development Advisory Board. 🤝Secured NSF Approval: Collaborating with NSF to ensure every step is aligned with their standards for creating real impact. 🚀Launched the Program: Announcing the opportunity, reviewing applications, and selecting awardees - all in just a few short months. From designing every detail to receiving approval and executing it, the rapid timeline highlights the strength of our team and the trust NSF placed in us. I’d like to extend a big thanks to the National Science Foundation (NSF) for prioritizing this initiative and helping us move quickly. Applications for the next wave of grants will open early next year. Here’s to what’s ahead!

December is tough if you're looking for the next step. The end of the year brings a lot of angst for job-seekers as interviews tend to dry up. Why not sharpen your interviewing knife in December? Here are 3 steps to consider taking today: 1) Check out this podcast geared right at you with Career Thought Leaders Consortium member and my good friend Emily Wong. 2) Sketch Your Sloppy Copy Interview Story Log by doing this: a. Write down each job you've had since you were about 20. b. Think of the ONE formative moment at that job that forced growth in you. c. Write down why that was, sketch a quick story of what you learned. *You'll have a full log of mini-stories to weave into interviews. 3) Invest. Check out the first comment below for our Quick-turn "Interview Lab" options. Bring that story log to the kickoff meeting with me. Time and time again we hear from clients, "Cindy - they told me that was one of the best interviews they have heard - ever. And... I got the job!" #careers #interview #interviewskills #interviewing #jobsearch #careersearch #resume #resumewriting #careertransition #jobapplication #storytelling https://rb.gy/j6guf4

  • A common muscle we help clients build is, "The Anatomy of a Meeting." What's that? And what do Tim Cook and Donald Trump have to do with it? "'The Anatomy of a Meeting' is the simple truth that a meeting has parts - just like a body, or a car engine, or a computer," explains Cindy Skalicky 🔷 , Owner at On Point. "In a 30 minute meeting, you can think of it like the sitcom FRIENDS; there's 22 minutes of the actual show, and 8 minutes of commercials. 'The show' is the meat of your meeting, and the remaining 8 minutes are the early pleasantries and agenda plus the final decision-making and action steps." This WSJ article hits the nail on the head with a key strategies concerning The Anatomy of a Meeting - with a specific strategy in mind, Tim Cook implemented something a lot of leaders in science and tech can copy and paste: 🌟[1] "....Cook developed a meeting strategy with Trump where he would bring one data point to hone in on - a single issue in a meeting. That approach helped keep the meetings from spiraling in too many directions." 🌟[2] Cook also went old school on developing a relationship built on as much trust as possible: "Cook would appeal to Trump directly through phone calls and meals, said people familiar with the interactions." What about you? Whose orbit do you need to enter, influence, explore in 2025 to get an innovation further down the "assembly line" - and how will you do it? ✅ Today is the last day to grab our Gratitude Special. Grab Option B before it's too late and let's get to work. Link in comments. https://lnkd.in/gBa5pUgd
