As #worldsoilday approaches, we are excited to present our #TogetherForSoilWithRPLC series, highlighting the voices of farmers and partners who are leading the way in soil health and regenerative agriculture. Healthy soil is the backbone of food security, vibrant ecosystems, and sustainable farming. Through these stories, we hope to inspire action and show the transformative impact of equipping farmers with knowledge and tools to nurture the soil. As Jagdish Nigam, an RPLC farmer, shares: "By teaching farmers to make organic fertilisers like Jeevamrut and incorporating practices like crop rotation and soil purification, we are not only improving soil health but also reducing reliance on market fertilizers and boosting crop productivity." Watch his testimonial in the video below, and stay tuned for more stories of learning and innovation from the field. Development Support Centre ✅ #soilhealth #soilrestoration #collaborativeefforts

The 4th Chhindwara Compact Meeting, held at the newly established Pandhurna District Collectorate, was chaired by Mr. Ajay Dev Sharma, Collector of Pandhurna. The meeting saw participation from over 50 key stakeholders, including government officials from Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary, NRLM, SRLM, NABARD - National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, and Panchayati Raj Institutions, alongside private sector partners like Fishin, Neutral, ADM, ABF, SIDDHIVINAYAK AGRI PROCESSING PVT LTD(SV AGRI), and CSO partners WWF-India, Laudes Foundation, GREEN Foundation, SRIJAN (Self-Reliant Initiatives through Joint Action), and The Nature Conservancy. Local farmers and FPO representatives were also an integral part of the discussion. One of the standout themes of the meeting was the value of private sector participation. The presence of market partners and agri-business players is critical in translating these efforts into tangible opportunities for farmers. By building stronger connections with private entities, we can open up access to new markets, drive more competitive pricing, and ensure that farmers from Pandhurna and Sausar are better placed to benefit from sustainable and regenerative farming practices. This collaboration can also lead to improved market placements, fairer benefit transfers, and stronger value chains for the region’s agricultural output. The key outcome of the meeting was the formulation of a joint 6-month action plan to: 🌿 Strengthen convergence across government departments for holistic support. 🌿 Advance regenerative and organic marketing strategies that align with market trends. 🌿 Ensure efficient and transparent benefit transfers to farmers, empowering them with better access to markets and financial gains. With the ongoing support from both the public and private sectors, we hope to create a more resilient and thriving agricultural landscape for the compact. #CompactMeeting #GovernmentSynergy #PPP #RegenerativeAgriculture

Aligning with #WorldCottonDay2024, RPLC is driving a shift towards sustainability in the textile and apparel industry, which is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. While raw material production, including cotton farming, accounts for less than 20% of these emissions, agriculture’s carbon sequestration potential offers a significant opportunity for climate action. At RPLC, a multi-stakeholder and multi-sectoral initiative, we are leading this transformative journey. By bringing together farmers, businesses, local stakeholders, and government bodies, we promote sustainable farming methods that enhance livelihoods and restore ecosystems, creating lasting benefits for both the environment and the communities that depend on it. This World Cotton Day, we emphasise the role of cotton in shaping a sustainable future. We also empower women and marginalised communities through bio-input enterprises and diversified farming, promoting economic sustainability alongside environmental benefits. We express our gratitude to our partners— Action for Social Advancement (ASA), Bhopal, SRIJAN (Self-Reliant Initiatives through Joint Action), GREEN Foundation, Laudes Foundation, WWF-India, Organic Cotton Accelerator, IDH for their support! #RegenerativeAgriculture #ClimateAction #GHGReduction #SoilHealth #Agroforestry

Madhya Pradesh, known for its rich biodiversity and agricultural heritage, faces challenges in maintaining sustainable practices amidst environmental and social pressures. Our Regenerative Production Landscape Collaborative is addressing these issues through six focus areas: soil health, water management, living income, biodiversity, gender equality, and climate resilience. By enhancing soil fertility and implementing water conservation techniques, we are boosting agricultural productivity and resilience. Our efforts are also improving farmers' incomes, reducing GHG emissions, promoting biodiversity, and empowering women within the community. As we observe #WorldConservationDay, we celebrate the positive impact of these initiatives on both the environment and local communities. Healthier soils and efficient water use lead to better yields, while increased biodiversity supports a balanced ecosystem. Gender equality initiatives are fostering inclusive growth, ensuring that women have equal opportunities in agricultural practices. Our efforts along with our implementing partners in Madhya Pradesh provides a replicable model for sustainable development. By focusing on these six key areas, we can create a more resilient and equitable future for communities around the world. Join us in celebrating World Conservation Day by supporting regenerative practices that benefit both people and the planet. Together, we can cultivate a sustainable future.
