Highlight the power of gratitude! In tough times, help children pause, notice, and savor the feelings that the good things in our lives bring. 🧡 After watching this video, invite children to make their own gratitude jar! From time to time, encourage them to draw a picture of something or someone they appreciate, and put the slip of paper in the jar. When it’s full, take your time going through the slips one by one and absorb the good feelings they bring up. Developing a sense of thankfulness places us in a better position to face challenges with inner strength and resilience! https://lnkd.in/eWehJ_Ep #Resources

There are ways for incarcerated parents to be involved in children's daily lives. Some ways to stay connected include: • Phone calls – Help children think of things to tell them in advance • Visits – Prepare children ahead of time for what they might expect to see or do • Letters – Children can write or draw, you might also include schoolwork to show • Televisiting – Try sharing an everyday routine such as story time Visit our website to learn more about each of these ideas and find resources to help families keep in touch during a parent's incarceration. https://lnkd.in/eN7eN7kW #Resources

Emotions can live in many places inside our bodies. Tuning into the feelings throughout our bodies can help children feel a sense of calm and grounding. 😌 Together with children, use this podcast to practice a mindful body scan. Big Bird guides children to pay close attention to different parts of their bodies, from their heads to their toes. Mindfulness helps grown-ups feel good too, so feel free to join in! https://lnkd.in/es4RUB4k #Resources
