Disrupting Patient Experience - Make a Ruckus That Makes a Difference

About us

The PX Community (PXC) seeks to 1. Disrupt the perception of Patient Experience in healthcare 2. Remove barriers to thought leadership, resources, and tools 3. Enable and encourage contribution from members in creating value-added tools and resources 4. Foster a rich culture of connection and support 5. Encourage each member to Make a Ruckus to Make a Difference We have a mutual goal of creating patient-centered healthcare; let's collectively work to achieve this. PXC is a space for Patient Experience professionals to connect, share, inspire, and grow with and from each other. Launching January 2022, the PXC digital space will allow members to connect with other members and find and contribute to the growing library of resources. At PXC events, members' voices and contributions are solicited - members lead the conversations as the experts in the field. PXC's purpose is to serve its members and support their efforts to improve the experience of care for all patients. Member contribution will build the community, and together we will disrupt Patient Experience. Are you ready to make a difference? Join us!

  • Toni Land, MBA, BSN, CPXP, LCC is doing incredible work in healthcare, and her expertise as an exceptional trainer and leader shines through in everything she does. Her deep knowledge and commitment to supporting both patients and the dedicated professionals who provide direct care are truly inspiring.   This video is a perfect example of her thoughtful approach to training and improving patient outcomes.   I highly encourage you to take a moment to watch this video. Toni delves into the new HCAHPS question on patient rest and offers valuable insights into how and why this question was added. She also provides practical solutions for creating healing environments that enable the critically needed rest patients require to heal.   This is a must-watch if you're unaware of the change to HCAHPS coming in 2025 or unsure how to help your teams understand the why and how behind it.

We’ve received so much incredible feedback since releasing “I’m Here” on Audible earlier this month. I’ve received a lot of questions about the recording process, too: -Why did this project take a few years to make? -What was the process like for me to narrate? -How do I feel about the finished product? The Hotness and I dive into all these details and more on this week’s episode of the C&C podcast. I even play my screen reading software to give you an idea of how it sounds when I listen to it on 3x. Can you make out which part of the book I play?? I’d be impressed if you can! Check out the full “Compassion & Courage” episode wherever you catch your podcasts and as always, if your life or profession have improved after reading I'm Here...thank you for helping me find my "Why?". ---- #ImHere #Audiobook #Healthcare #Nursing #AlliedHealth #Presence #ImHereMovement

Patient Experience is so much more than numbers and surveys. At 18, in the blink of an eye, I became a survivor of massive trauma after a drunk driver immediately took my sight and crushed every bone in my face (LeFort 3). I had a trach, chest tubes, j-tubes, legs in traction due to a compound break in my left leg and a dislocated right hip. My head was swollen up to the size of a basketball. I was black and blue from head to toe. Blind, mute, immobile and disfigured. Then...everything changed. I met a nurse named Barb. She shook my hand like there was nothing wrong with me and took a minute to ask the simple question no one else had bothered to pose, “What would you like me to call you?”. How do you think that made me feel? PX is humans beings taking care of human beings at one’s most vulnerable moments. It’s taking the extra minute to connect with a patient or family member on a more personal level. It’s active listening. It’s compassion and empathy. It’s making someone’s day with the power of your presence. This is #PatientExperience at it's core. Happy PX Week to all those putting more humanity into caregiving! #HumanExperience #PatientExperienceWeek #ImHereMovement ---- Pictured here: 1. Me as an 18 year old patient in the hospital, badly beaten up 2. Barb and me - 30 years later and she’s still one of my favorite people! #WhatYouDoMatters

  • At the heart of patient experience - under the technology, the processes and platforms - are human beings. And to improve the patient experience, we must first change human behavior.   Easier said than done… With 100 billion neurons in our brains (as many as there are stars in the Milky Way), humans are the most complex things in the known universe.   So, how do we wade through all that complexity and tap into what truly motivates patients and their caregivers?   In this lively presentation, we’ll explore the Emotional ROI model of behavior. We'll dig into the hidden behavioral aspects that shape patient experiences. We'll unravel the motivations that drive us, shine a light on hidden obstacles, and discover new ways to enhance patient care.   Don't miss out—Sparky Witte will share a simple model you can take with you and apply in your daily work. This is your chance to gain actionable insights that will make a real difference. #patientexperience #healthcare #behavioralscience
