New research from Alliance member Snap Inc. and ConnectSafely reflects the reality for Gen Z in navigating the online world. The research found that: ➡️8 out of 10 teens and young adults reported exposure to at least one online risk ➡️despite that uptick in risk exposure, more teens said they sought help after experiencing a digital issue more parents reported checking in with their teens to help them better navigate online experiences. ➡️deception was common in risk scenarios with 59% of Gen Z respondents noting they had engaged with someone online who lied about their identity Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/eGZJkhA3

WeProtect Global Alliance's Executive Director, Iain Drennan recently returned from the 2025 World Economic Forum in Davos. The Forum is a melting pot of ideas and leaders from a myriad of different fields, from climate to health care and manufacturing to cyber security. What can we learn from the experience of showing up for children in this global arena? The Forum and everyone.AI are leading an international coalition to ensure #AI serves as a force for good in children's lives. Bringing together governments, tech companies, researchers, educators, investors, and civil society to foster inclusive, interdisciplinary dialogue on the impact of AI on child development, the coalition will focus on ensuring AI protects and promotes children's cognitive and socio-emotional well-being. Guided by key principles—including child safety, ethical and inclusive AI, age-appropriate design, and family-inclusive practices— the coalition aims to establish evidence-based guidelines, conduct long-term research, and create a global expert network. 🙌Recent actions by the UK Government and European Union will play an important role in keeping kids #safeonline. The UK Government's announcement of new legislation to criminalise possession, creation and distribution of #AI tools to produce child sexual abuse material and the EU's AI Act are important developments in online safety legislation that we warmly welcome. 💫 Next we hope that other governments and countries will follow suit with similar legislation and policy. 🙏 Our Model National Response (MNR) framework provides countries with the tools needed to strengthen their response to #childsexualabuse and exploitation online, with legislation and policy being a key pillar of this holistic framework. 🚀Find out how the MNR can strengthen your national response 👇 https://lnkd.in/eS3bpUDT
