Can you believe that every year our oceans are filled with 12 million tonnes of plastic? That's equivalent to the weight of 60,000 blue whales 🐋 Here at 4plastic our mission is simple – to raise awareness of the devastating impact of climate change on both our backyard and beyond, in order to inspire others to take action and create change 🙌

What is the Urgency for Climate Action? Climate change is making life harder and Earth less livable. Extreme weather events like droughts and floods, rising temperatures, and the loss of plants and animals are disrupting our food, water, and homes. How is Climate Change Happening? It’s caused by human activities like careless waste disposal, cutting down too many trees, using single-use plastics, and releasing harmful gases from cars, factories, and burning fuels. These actions trap heat and harm the environment. What Do We Need to Do? We must create awareness, take action, and stop polluting. Plant trees, switch to clean energy, ban single-use plastics, and act now to save our planet. 📸 Malembo Simbano Visit: https://shorturl.at/q2WEC Roots

Margaret Atwood refers to it as the "everything change." As we head into the weekend, it’s essential to reflect on the significant transformations occurring on our planet. Climate change isn't something we can push into the future; it's happening now, affecting every part of our lives. From extreme weather to altered ecosystems, this "everything change" is urgent and demands collective action. Let’s use this weekend to consider how we can all contribute to solutions, both large and small. Whether it’s making sustainable choices in our daily routines, advocating for policy reform, or supporting clean energy innovations, each of us has a role in shaping a livable future. What steps are you taking to address climate change? I'm starting with my weekend recycling. Let’s motivate each other to make a difference—because the time for change is now. #climatechange

Climate change doesn’t take a break, and neither does climate action, if you don’t want it to! 🌍 While on vacation, #EUClimatePact photo competition winner Nika Veger and her family were shocked by the amount of rubbish they found on the beach. After daily shore cleanings they managed to collect more than 400 shoes and 15 bags of litter! 👣 Together, we can decide the footprint we leave on this planet. Taking climate action, such as changing consumption habits or reducing & repairing instead of replacing, will make a big difference between clean or plastic-ridden shores ♻️ For Nika, initiatives like the European Climate Pact allow people to push for positive change. It can start with you. Join the Pact today! ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dEh5VfxV #MyWorldOurPlanet

It’s so exciting when the brands you use every day commit to meaningful climate action! Starbucks and Clover Sonoma just signed on to EDF’s Dairy Methane Action Alliance, joining some of the largest food and ag companies in the world. These companies have committed to publicly disclosing methane emissions within their dairy supply chains. And they are pledging to publish action plans to reduce dairy methane emissions by the end of the year. Cutting methane is the fastest way to slow the rate of warming. And the more companies that join the Dairy Methane Action Alliance, the bigger the climate impact. That’s why EDF is inviting every company in the global dairy supply chain to join and help secure a safe climate for now and for the future: https://lnkd.in/dZBz4kQZ

The Present and Future Generations Deserve Better: By not taking immediate action on climate change, we fail to fulfill our responsibility towards future generations. They deserve a world where clean air, safe drinking water, and a thriving ecosystem are the norm, rather than a distant memory. By prioritizing their needs, we can ensure that our children and grandchildren inherit a planet capable of sustaining their dreams and aspirations.

Human activities, such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes, have contributed to the increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, leading to global warming and climate change. The effects of climate change are widespread and can be seen in rising sea levels, more frequent and severe natural disasters, changes in ecosystems and wildlife habitats, and shifts in agricultural patterns. It is crucial for individuals, communities, and governments to take action to mitigate the impacts of climate change and work towards a sustainable future. Efforts to combat climate change include reducing carbon emissions, transitioning to renewable energy sources, promoting energy efficiency, conserving natural resources, and raising awareness about the importance of environmental conservation. By working together to address climate change, we can protect the planet for future generations and create a more sustainable and resilient world 🌎 😊 ❤️
