The recent deep dive into the crisis in adult social care, as highlighted by the Local Government Association (LGA) and ITV News, reveals a troubling reality: Nearly a third of councils struggle to meet their basic legal duties to elderly and vulnerable residents. This stark data underscores the critical need for immediate action. At Advanced Adult Care Assessments (AACA), we recognise local authorities' immense pressures and the devastating impact on individuals like David Gower, whose quality of life has significantly declined due to reduced support. The decline in social care services diminishes the dignity and well-being of our most vulnerable and places additional strain on our already overburdened health services. We echo Cllr David Fothergill's call for urgent attention to adult social care. Policymakers must prioritise this issue and work collaboratively to find sustainable solutions. As Mr. Gower poignantly stated, "We're not dealing with a commodity; we're dealing with life—and life is not cheap." #SocialCare #AdultSocialCare #EfficiencyInCare #PersonCentredSupport

Sector leaders have criticised the lack of progress two years on from the Care Review publication. The Our Care coalition, which includes NSPCC and Barnardo's, is concerned over a lack of action to enact reforms promised by the government following the Independent Review of Children’s Social Care’s final report. Tristone’s COO, Rob Finney, has been following developments closelyover the last couple of years.
