With my fellow sociolinguists often a discussion is on. What would be the role and relevance of a Galician Studies Centre in a Business School? Until now teaching-learning of Spanish languages in the Indian educational contexts was primarily dominated by the INSTITUTO CERVANTES- NEW DELHI – which was also primarily dominated by Spanish- the majority language. Woxsen University is a game changer in this regard as we established the first-ever Galician Studies Centre of Asia. Ever since its inception in mid-2024, we have been working towards enhancing global business strategies, cultural awareness, and diversity initiatives in the Spanish minority language. The activities include one international conference and a national-level symposium to initiate the discussion in this area. More to come in the following months. Moreover, with its cultural, structural and semantic closeness with Portuguese and Spanish, the Galician language intersected quickly with the University’s thriving Spanish and Portuguese language-speaking community. I truly hope that it will equip our students and colleagues with the necessary linguistic and cultural knowledge needed to engage with Galician and Portuguese-speaking markets in Galicia, Portugal (particularly, the northen part of the country) and Brazil. Begoña Jamardo Suárez may shed some more light on this! The focus should also be to align with the increasing emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in today's business school curriculums. Colleagues who are developing business case studies may also integrate case studies of companies successfully operating in minority-language markets or communities. Just a food for thought... Good business is GREAT for everyone, and Lithuania’s EV charging station expansion model is proving the point. There are challenges in charging station infrastructure development to be sure. Development, innovation, and regulatory development are critical to the growth of the EV market in the US and abroad. Good on Lithuania for setting a great model for exploration. #transportation #infrastructure #ev
In Lithuania, there are already more than 12,000 EV on the roads – their number has increased by as much as 61% in a year. Despite the rapid growth, electric vehicles still make up only a very small part of the overall national transportation, which currently stands at about 1.7 million vehicles 🚘 One of the main reasons for this is the slow development of charging station infrastructure. While the number of charging stations is growing, their distribution and accessibility across the country, particularly in regions areas, remain insufficient to serve all EV users' needs. Kazys Pupinis, the Head of Eleport Lithuania, shares his expertise on this matter and the broader EV charging landscape in the regions of Lithuania 🇱🇹 Discover the article here:

As ESTECO, the company behind Cardanit, we're starting a 3-year regionally funded project. This is going to develop a digital twin of the port system in the North East of the Mediterranean Sea, featuring simulated BPMN models. Watch this space!
ESTECO is proud to announce its participation in the PORTRAIT (Port to Rail Digital Twin in the Adriatic Region) project, funded by Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia under the PR FESR 2021-2027 program. Together with Adriafer, IKON, LIFT, and the University of Trieste, we are developing a highly interactive #digitaltwin of the port system, including the Ports of Trieste, Monfalcone, and inland terminals. This innovative tool will enhance decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and optimize the integration between rail and port activities, driving smarter, more sustainable mobility in the region. 🚢 As you may know, MSCA ETN AUTOBarge is a European research project in which 15 Ph.D. candidates conduct scientific research on autonomous sailing in inland navigation. IVR (EU) is proud to be involved in the project as a partner organization. ⚓ Earlier this month, we were able to offer temporary work spaces to Ph.D. candidates Sophie C. Orzechowski, LL.M. from Institut Droit International des Transports and Camilla Domenighini from University of Antwerp, to carry out part of their research on regulatory and legal aspects related to autonomous inland shipping within the secretariat of IVR. 📊 Within AUTOBarge, Sophie's research focus lies at analysing the existing public regulatory landscape as to obstacles that are currently standing in the way of implementing autonomous inland shipping in Europe. Camilla is researching the issues related to the introduction of autonomous barges in the contractual chain and risk distribution within the ecosystem. 💙 We are honored to have welcomed them both at our office in Rotterdam. Their hard work and valuable contributions have been greatly appreciated, and we’re happy to support them in this phase of their work. We wish them all the best as they complete the remaining parts of their research and look forward to seeing the outcomes of their efforts. #IVReu #InlandNavigation #AUTOBarge #PhD #AutonomousSailing #Research #Legal #Regulatory #UniversityOfAntwerp #IDIT

Last week, a couple of us visited the EAGE in Oslo. Here’s some of our thoughts from the exhibition. Attendance was rumoured to be about 6000 which is a good turnout. However, it is Oslo which has a large number of companies working in the industry so the attendance should have been good. The exhibition was spread across to halls and one was definitely more popular than the other. This is disappointing for the exhibitors in the quieter hall and one that really should be avoided. Although the exhibition centre was not in central Oslo but in Lillestrom, the transport network worked perfectly and getting to and from the centre was very straight forward. There was generally a positive vibe in the exhibition. This was partly driven by TGS and PGS having neighbouring booths and their merger getting the go ahead on the first day and by CGG rebranding as Viridien and celebrating accordingly. There were no significant new comers in the exhibition, mainly companies that have been around for some time. No revolutionary new technology that we noticed and mentions of artificial intelligence and machine learning were limited. There was a vast number of talks being given across the three days. It is possible that there are too many talks across too many streams for anyone to be able to truly appreciate what is being presented. Quantity does not necessarily mean quality in these cases. Overall, it was great to be there, if a little exhausting. See you all in Toulouse next year! #oilandgas #energy #consulting
