The video discusses the future of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, featuring representatives from Joby, Archer, and Wisk. They cover topics including safety, regulatory challenges, noise reduction, autonomous flight, and timelines for commercial availability. 𝗦𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗮 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 The future of urban air mobility is rapidly approaching, with electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft poised to revolutionize transportation in cities around the world. In a panel discussion featuring representatives from three leading eVTOL companies - Joby Aviation, Archer Aviation, and Wisk Aero - industry experts delved into the challenges and opportunities facing this emerging technology. Joby Aviation, represented by founder JoeBen Bevirt, has been working on eVTOL technology for 15 years. The company's aircraft is designed to carry a pilot and four passengers, with a range of up to 150 miles and speeds of up to 200 mph. Archer Aviation, introduced by co-founder Adam Goldstein, is developing a similar aircraft called Midnight, which can carry four passengers and a pilot for trips of 20-50 miles at speeds up to 150 mph. Wisk Aero, represented by CEO Brian Yutko, is taking a different approach by focusing on autonomous flight, with their latest generation aircraft designed to operate without a pilot on board. I am focused on getting products to market and innovation so I am not the most safety conscious person but I am wondering if others like me would see any unnecessary safety risks here.
The gradual implementation of electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft for passenger transport is poised to revolutionize urban mobility. These innovative vehicles, which combine the vertical lift capabilities of helicopters with the efficiency and speed of fixed-wing aircraft, are being developed to provide a sustainable and efficient alternative to traditional transportation methods. Pioneering companies are advancing in the certification process, conducting extensive flight tests to ensure safety and reliability. With continuous progress in battery technology, autonomous flight systems, and air traffic management, the vision of eVTOL air taxis is moving closer to becoming a reality. #eVTOL

When we talk about #mobility innovation, #electricvehicle and autonomous vehicle usually take the spotlight. #eVTOL in another dimension is progressing quietly to commercial deployment as a new transportation system, backed by #5G/5G-A based low-altitude intelligent network. Recently a Chinese vendor completed a trial flight of crossing Yangtze River in Nanjing. The flying vehicle, with a maximum payload of 500kg, or up to 5 passengers, finished the cross-river journey of equally around 12 miles on ground within 5 mins, less than 80% time than spent via ground transportation. The operation cost arguably is below 10USD per passenger for each ride, and could further drop 40~50% in future. Similar trials are ongoing this year, in China and many other countries as well. #LowAltitudeEconomy
