Following a patient journey using #genomic testing highlights the need for access to testing and analysis for optimal case management. Antares Genomics we are passionate about realising the promise of #precision #medicine for patients in Africa and not just safari studies with no benefits for local #African populations. "In conclusion, my journey highlights the necessity of self-advocacy and the ongoing pursuit of equitable access to cutting-edge healthcare advancements, particularly in genomics. The promise of precision medicine can only be fulfilled when patients directly benefit from these advancements. This journey has underscored the importance of speaking up and questioning, while also revealing the substantial work yet to be done in ensuring universal access to healthcare innovations, especially in genomics." Dr. Catalina Lopez-Correa is Chief Scientific Officer with Genome Canada, and Executive Director of the Canadian COVID Genomics Network #healthsecurity
Thank you to the Canadian Breast Cancer Network for publishing my story, supporting #genomic testing for #BreastCancer patients and for giving a voice to all #cancer patients!

📰 In a study funded by Prevent Breast Cancer, breast cancer researchers have discovered a way of keeping human breast tissue viable for at least a week outside of the body, paving the way for enhanced cancer treatments. 🗣️ Researcher Hannah Harrison explained: "Not all drugs work for all women. This new approach means that we can start to determine which drugs will work for which women by measuring their impact on living tissue."
