Blackpool Business Improvement Districts Limited’s Post

Over the last year, Blackpool Tourism BID (TBID) has continued to be a driving force behind Blackpool’s reputation as the UK’s leading seaside resort. The key achievements in 2023/24 include: Investment in the ‘Only in Blackpool’ campaign saw an impressive 160% growth in visitor intention for overnight stays, generating £5.7m in value. It also improved perceptions of Blackpool, particularly among those who previously wouldn’t have considered visiting. The Easter 2024 campaign run by VisitBlackpool and funded by TBID drove a 135% increase in link clicks and a 375% surge in traffic to VisitBlackpool’s Easter pages. Blackpool played a starring role in the nationwide celebrations for King Charles III’s Coronation in 2023, with over 10 million BBC viewers tuning in to watch the celebrations. Now a North West family favourite, the extended Christmas by the Sea event saw an 18% rise in visitor numbers. TBID invested in new event concepts, including the month-long Capital of Dance event. TBID’s focus will remain on promoting Blackpool as a top destination while providing practical support for local businesses and ensuring the resort continues to thrive throughout the year.
