🌍 Contributing to Europe’s Green Transition! 🌿 I’m pleased to share that I’ve recently taken part in the EURECOMP project, working alongside leading scientists from across Europe to advance recycling solutions for fiber-reinforced composites. This initiative is vital to driving sustainability and supporting the energy transition across the continent. At our recent project meeting in Leipzig, Germany, we made significant progress in developing cutting-edge recycling technologies. The EURECOMP project unites 20 leading research institutions, including the Silesian University of Technology, and focuses on reducing the environmental footprint in sectors such as wind energy, aerospace, and automotive. For the transformation from a linear to a circular economy, cooperation between business, science, politics and the civil society is crucial. Cooperation between established companies and startups, but also among companies as such. Along existing value chains, across them, and beyond geographical borders.   We have made it our mission to connect the relevant stakeholders.   This will be evident at the Circular Valley Forum 2024 on November 15 at Historische Stadthalle Wuppertal. The event with key players from all fields will also focus on the cooperation projects we were able to initiate thanks to our partners. Cooperation projects in Chemicals, Batteries, Building Material, Automotive and Water.   They overcome national borders, specifically, between Germany and Belgium. ⭐ YEAIS winner spotlight! ⭐ Alexandra Roe, winner of the Young Engineers Awards for Innovation and Sustainability Undergraduate category for her project ‘Enhancing the Understanding of Biochar to Allow the Incorporation into Tufted Carpet Tiles for a Reduction in the Carbon Footprint’. Speaking about her award win and motivation for submitting an entry, she said: "Winning this award is absolutely amazing. I can't stop smiling; I'm so proud of what I have achieved. For me, sustainability is why I study engineering. If we carry on the way we are, we will reach a point of no return, in terms of how we live. And that's not just us as humans - it's linked to animals, habitats, and landscapes. "Going forward, I want to continue to help improve sustainability and processes, with my goal of either beginning a role within a company or to complete a PhD in industry to ensure that my work gets used and makes an impact." This is shown in the  “Circularity Labs Austria” map, created by the Green Tech Valley in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Climate Action - Bundesministerium für Klimaschutz, Umwelt, Energie, Mobilität, Innovation & Technologie, and the University of Leoben (MUL), one of Europe’s leading “recycling universities”. How #waste2value works is being tried and tested in over 25 industry-scale labs along 8 material flows.
