EIT Food West’s Post

Congratulations to our startup Senoptica Technologies, who are part of our EIT Food Accelerator Network, for recently receiving FDA approval into the the North American Market for their excellent innovation! 🚀 ⭐ The #startup from Ireland have developed a ground breaking new sensor that will help reduce #foodwaste on the most resource intensive and valuable foods. ⭐ The Senoptica sensor is printed into active packaging (Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP), Vacuum Packaging and Vacuum Skin Packaging) and enables non invasive, non destructive identification of pack defects. ⭐ The technology helps to identify failed packs and provides condition data into supply chain analytics to predict spoilage and extend shelf life. Great news - cutting down on food waste is of vital importance in decreasing greenhouse gas emissions, conserving water and energy, and reducing the strain on landfills. Also - a big fav. - it also helps in preserving biodiversity by lowering the demand for food production, lessening deforestation and habitat destruction.
