The RESPITE consortium held its second in-person meeting at Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI, Berlin. A great opportunity to strengthen the cooperation between our partners (see below), share results, and discuss the next steps of our project. As always, face-to-face meetings generate lively debates and original ideas to drive forward our innovations and find practical solutions to the challenges that interdisciplinary research brings. Exciting (superconducting) neuromorphic computing experiments are fast approaching. #neuromorphiccomputing #Superconducting Single Quantum, Delft University of Technology, Ghent University, University of Groningen, TÜBİTAK, University of Oxford

When European physicists come together at the EPS Forum 2024, Q.ANT is not to be missed. In Berlin, our Q.ANTie Robert Roelver was invited to 2 round table discussions. 👉 Hybrid integration was the keyword of the round table "Emerging applications and challenges in Photonic Integrated Circuits". In addition to the established silicon platform, lithium niobate is also increasingly being used as a material in PIC construction. The particular advantage of LNOI lies in the possibility of electro-optical modulation 💪. Q.ANT recognised the possibilities of the material at a very early stage, has always relied on lithium niobate as a material platform and uses LNOI in processors for photonic quantum computing - also within the BMBF Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung funded project PhoQuant. All participants at the "Quantum Sensing" round table agreed that 👉 Interdisciplinary teams are the key to overcoming the challenges in the development of quantum sensors. Engineers, physicists and scientists need to work together in a more focussed way and look at and tackle problems from different perspectives. This approach must also be incorporated more strongly into education, was the unanimous tenor of the panel. At the European Physical Society EPS Forum 2024 in Berlin, European researchers, PhD students, and postdocs meet with physics-based companies in order to discuss exciting research challenges and career opportunities in industry. It also hosts a general conference in physics on various topics, addressed from a more fundamental point of view introduced by high-profile scientists. #EPS #technology #innovation
