EU Specialty Food Ingredients is very grateful to Sciensano to have organised for our Scientific & Regulatory Secretariat’s team a very informative visit of their laboratories. On 1st August 2024, Sciensano (Belgium) was appointed by the European Commission as the EU Reference Laboratory for Food Improvement Agents (EURL FIA), with the following responsibilities: ✔️ provide scientific and technical assistance to the European Commission; ✔️ coordinate and supervise the network of National Reference Laboratories (NRL) for food improvement agents across the European Union; ✔️ develop, improve and implement the analytical methods, harmonising the evaluation criteria for food improvement agents in the network of national reference laboratories; ✔️ organization of interlaboratory tests to evaluate the performance of the NRL. https://lnkd.in/ezyZxJBz #FoodIngredients

Mass spectomectry...sample preparations...I have come to understand how important all this can be for the food additive industry but I must admit it was a little abstract for a bookworm like me 😊. I would like to thank Sciensano for this very informative visit and wish them all the best in their new role as EU reference lab for food improvement agents!
