Today marks Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day. Ovarian cancer is the sixth most common cancer in women. It develops when abnormal cells in the ovaries start to grow and divide, eventually growing into a tumour. If ovarian cancer isn't treated, cancer cells can gradually grow into the surrounding tissues and may spread to other areas of the body. However, ovarian cancer can be treated successfully, especially if diagnosed early. Our Integrated Cancer Campus provides expert-led treatment for ovarian cancer. 🤔❓ What do we really know about Small Cell Lung Cancer? Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is a less common type of cancer, but its impact is not small. Despite its lower prevalence, its aggressive and complex nature makes it one of the biggest challenges in lung cancer treatment. 🔬 At #PharmaMar, we have been researching this type of cancer for over 10 years. Our goal is to develop innovative treatments that help improve the quality of life of people affected by SCLC. We are aware that, although this cancer is less widely known 🤫, its impact on patients is far-reaching, which is why we continue researching to offer solutions. Every type of cancer deserves attention, and at PharmaMar, we continue to work to make progress in treating all of them.🤝 #LungCancerAwarenessMonth

METASTATIC CANCER Metastatic cancer refers to cancer that has spread beyond the point of origin to other distant areas of the body. Metastasis is a word used to describe the spread of cancer. Unlike normal cells, cancer cells have the ability to grow outside of the place in your body where. they originated. When this happens, it's called metastatic cancer, advanced cancer or Stage IV cancer. The most common sites for cancers to metastasize include the lungs, liver, bones and brain. Other places include the adrenal gland, lymph nodes, skin and other organs. Some people will have minimal or no symptoms of metastatic cancer. In most cases, metastatic cancer is not curable. However, treatment can slow growth and ease many of the associated symptoms. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinking #snsdesignthinkers

Hot off the press in Cancer 📗 Cost-of-care discussions for individuals with advanced non–small cell lung cancer and melanoma: Findings from a large, population-based pilot study https://lnkd.in/egGpEjgg Cost discussions were infrequently documented in the medical records of patients who were diagnosed with advanced non–small cell lung cancer and melanoma, which may hinder identifying patient needs and tracking outcomes of associated referrals. This new study led by Robin Yabroff of the American Cancer Society calls for efforts to increase cost-of-care discussions and relevant referrals, as well as their documentation.
