𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘀: 𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝘅𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 W𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗛𝗜𝗩: Let's explore the findings of this study, which assesses the #SexualAndReproductiveHealth of cisgender #Women with #HIV in the #USA. Findings reveal that 86.4% of them received cervical Pap smears in 3 years, while only 38.5% had recent STD testing. Although 88.9% of these sexually active women used contraception, 53.4% experienced ≥1 pregnancy since their HIV diagnosis. Among them, 81.5% had ≥1 unintended pregnancy, 24.6% had ≥1 miscarriages or stillbirths, and 9.8% had ≥1 abortions. #SocialDeterminants like poverty impacted some sexual and reproductive health outcomes among these women. Therefore, expanding coverage and adopting a multifaceted approach to these services is vital. #HIV #SexualHealth #ReproductiveHealth #Women #SocialDeterminants #Research For further details, please refer to the following link: https://lnkd.in/ewa3wnGr

While it's taboo to talk about Sexual & Reproductive Health in most households in PNG, it's sad to see rising cases of unplanned pregnancy, STI and HIV and AIDS among young adolescent especially female. The Government has done it's best to decentralize updated treatment on STI and HIV & AIDS in Provincial Hospitals and some Health centres but sadly "Shame" keeps adolescents away. One solution to this problem in my opinion is to introduce sexual health and reproduction topics in upper primary cirriculum and allow the students to discuss openly about "taboo" topics.#ThinkingOutLoud01.Aug.24

Friendly and knowledgeable health workers play a crucial role in educating young women about female condoms, including their correct use, benefits, and availability. Female condoms empower women by giving them greater control over their sexual health and contraception. They offer a reliable method to prevent both unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV. One of the standout advantages of female condoms is their dual protection. Unlike many other forms of contraception, female condoms prevent both pregnancy and STIs, which is particularly vital for young women who may be at higher risk for STIs.Have you ever seen a female condom? If not, don't worry! We have both female and male condoms available at our offices, and our friendly staff are here to provide you with all the information you need. Whether you're curious about how to use them, their benefits, or just want to learn more, we're here to help. Your sexual health and empowerment are our top priorities.

In 2023, we continued to see threats that impact SRHR progress, and yet in the face of these challenges we also saw important advances. CIFF worked with partners to close the funding gaps for family planning, strengthen government ownership of SRHR, and improve access to self-managed contraception, HIV self-testing and access to quality safe abortion or post-abortion care. As put by our Executive Director for SRHR Miles Kemplay, although the scale of the issues we face far outweigh the current solutions available - we are able to see progress & we can demonstrate alongside partners that rapid change is possible.
