Since the first time I went for the UNGA, we had always wanted to organise something on the sidelines of the global dialogue - and this year, we made it happen. Along with other powerful civic tech organisations as partners, Youth Ki Awaaz co-organised this discussion on public tech and how it can enable citizen agency, in New York at the Acumen office. This event was monumental for a few reasons: 1. Firstly, it gave us the opportunity to bring together some of the best minds in this landscape, and hear from a wider range of practitioners and experts from Sumitra Pasupathy to Sanjay Purohit. It also came together as a first ever multi org collab between Haqdarshak, Reap Benefit, Indus Action, Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC), Centre for Exponential Change and Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies - a partnership that collectively reaches and impacts millions across India, representing voices of an emerging youth. 2. Alongside what often ends up being a very global north led conversation, it puts India and other global south voices forward - giving us the opportunity to get some very interesting folks together who usually may not be able to. This marks the beginning of this collaboration and these forums and I truly hope it paves the way for more South Asian voices to emerge stronger and for us to do a lot more of these together - both in India and in other parts of the world. “The power of youth is the common wealth for the entire world.” — Kailash Satyarthi Throughout history, the fervor of youthful courage has ignited the flames of independence and transformation in our country. As we celebrate International #YouthDay today, and with the 78th Independence Day of India just around the corner, we honor the profound contributions of today’s young innovators who are at the forefront of digital progress. This year's theme, "Empowering Youth: From Clicks to Progress," emphasizes the pivotal role of young minds in shaping a future defined by technological advancement and inclusivity. From pioneering developments in coding and app creation to generating impactful digital content, the youth are not merely engaging with the digital era—they are actively reshaping it. Youth-led community initiatives exemplify how technology catalyzes positive change. Their endeavors to combat misinformation and celebrate our cultural heritage echo the spirit of the Swadeshi movement, where revolutionary ideals ignited a mass movement for national independence. Today, as they engage in online campaigns and virtual events, they continue to champion #truth, #unity, and a vision of #freedom that fosters a more inclusive and sustainable world. Let's inspire change together! #ManavRachna #Youth #InternationalYouthDay

🌟 Transforming Youth Livelihoods: Pathways to Full Potential 🌟 Yesterday, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the 5th Annual GOYN Global Convening in Pune, Maharashtra. Hosted by the Global Opportunity Youth Network (GOYN), this transformative event brought together inspiring Opportunity Youth Leaders, community partners, and global allies from around the world. The convening focused on co-creating pathways for young people to achieve their full potential, emphasizing personal success, financial sustainability, and a strong sense of agency. The mission to provide tools and opportunities for building dignified livelihoods resonated deeply with me. 🌍 One powerful lesson that stood out was: Be confident, be fearless, be a listener, and most importantly, be humble. As youth representatives, we carried the responsibility of voicing the aspirations and challenges of young people worldwide. Key takeaways: 🔹 Tackling systemic barriers like inequality and discrimination to ensure equitable opportunities. 🔹 Shifting mindsets to foster inclusive ecosystems that empower youth to thrive. 🔹 The power of place-based collaboration in addressing real-world challenges. I left the event inspired by the commitment to shaping a future where every young person can contribute to and benefit from a thriving global economy. ✨ Here’s to creating impactful change, one step at a time! #YouthEmpowerment #GOYN2024 #GlobalOpportunity #TransformingLives #InclusiveFutures Ganesh Natarajan

Youth are the trailblazers driving a nation’s success. Yet, children in rural areas often lack access to education and basic infrastructure, risking their future potential. At Nuvoco, we celebrate young minds by making education more accessible and transformative. Through our Shikshit Bharat initiative, we’re enhancing infrastructure and enabling digital learning in government schools. Wishing India a Happy International Youth Day! #Nuvoco #InternationalYouthDay2024 #IYD2024 #CorporateSocialResponsibility #DigitalLearning
