Last month, Tinkr and the Federation of Uganda Employers hosted an engaging workshop exploring Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. A key takeaway? ESG isn’t just for large corporations it’s transforming agriculture in Uganda. In Kaweri, Western Uganda, coffee farmers like Sharon and Yusuf are leading by example: ✔️ Using organic manure to replace chemical fertilizers ✔️ Planting trees to conserve soil and water ✔️ Driving community engagement through job creation Their practices not only align with global ESG standards like the EU’s CSRD but also pave the way for a sustainable agricultural future. 💡 Learn how ESG principles are shaping industries across Uganda: https://lnkd.in/depF5a62

How to REFORM and REPURPOSE SUBSIDIES towards safeguarding the world’s foundational NATURAL ASSETS - clean air, land, and oceans - from DEGRADATION and HARMING PEOPLE, the PLANET, and ECONOMIES? Key messages in The World Bank Group report "Detox Development: Repurposing Environmentally Harmful Subsidies", published June 15th, 2023 (see https://lnkd.in/dHmgaW7X), are: ✅ Governments are spending trillions on INEFFICIENT SUBSIDIES that are making climate change worse - money that could be tapped to help solve the problem. ✅ REPURPOSING these wasteful subsidies will help ensure a green and just TRANSITION that can provide jobs and OPPORTUNITIES for all. ✅ The consequences of INACTION are COSTLY. We are running out of time to deal with the climate crisis. ✅ Subsidy REFORM is PRO-POOR. The Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN), launched in 2012, is one approach to reform and repurpose subsidies. It is a step-by-step methodology for identifying, designing and implementing FINANCE SOLUTIONS to achieve POSITIVE CHANGES FOR NATURE. Countries that have successfully applied the BIOFIN approach include #thailand, #indonesia, #philippines, #mexico and #uzbekistan. The Academy of International Business Sustainability Shared Interest Group would like to thank Arif Z. for providing as a gift to our SIG the book "Sustainable Production and Trade: Perspectives from the Commonwealth" by the @Commonwealth Secretariat. We are looking forward to future collaborations with the @Commonwealth Research Network. For the special book dedication, please see the comments. Synopsis Sustainable production and trade are essential for the future of our planet as they provide critical pathways towards achieving long-term economic, social and environmental sustainability. The Commonwealth recognises that the challenges of climate change, loss of biodiversity and resource depletion require urgent action. For over three decades, the Commonwealth has been at the forefront of global sustainability efforts, leading the way and advocating for change. This book analyses sustainable production and trade practices in four key sectors: cocoa, fisheries, forestry, and textiles and garments. It seeks to shed light on the commendable sustainable practices employed by Commonwealth countries in these sectors, while also highlighting the challenges they face and the potential to make production and trade more sustainable in the future. A central message throughout the book is the need to prioritise support to small-scale producers, indigenous peoples and local communities, women and youths, and small and medium enterprises to help achieve these goals while improving their livelihoods. #aibsustainabilitysig #commonwealthsecretariat Shasha Zhao Maria Ilieva https://lnkd.in/eEiMvDBH

Best Long-Term Investments Of 2024! The best way to build wealth is to put your money to work in the Long-Term agro food projects! A great way to get ahead of the game is to pursue long-term investing. When you buy and hold assets for years—or even decades—you have time on your side. The global food system presents a huge business and investment opportunity with an estimated asset value of US$14 trillion, equivalent to between 16 percent to 20 percent of global GDP. Global support to agricultural producers could reach nearly $1.8 trillion in 2030 . Therefore, transforming food systems is critical to achieve global targets including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), objectives of the Paris Agreement, and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Shifting the way we produce, process, transport, package, and consume food to align with these development, climate and nature targets requires an annual investment of $350 billion by 2030. These funds will drive sustainable agriculture and land use change, innovation in food value chains, shifts in consumer behaviour, and help overcome institutional and financial barriers. We offer long-term agro-food mega projects from our corporation "Green Alliance" (Smart Sustainable Agro Park Cluster and Smart Agro Hub - Greenport) - short-term in terms of construction time - only 18 months and long-term in terms of existence, for example, like Coca Cola, McDonald's, etc. Since financial instruments are issued for our projects and green bonds are issued, each of our projects is listed on the stock exchange and their long-term listing on the stock exchange occurs! A minority investor invests only 400 thousand Euros - one-time and receives a long-term net profit of 10 million Euros per year and a share in the project -13%, which he can then sell at market value. Or forge the entire business into your own personal property! It's time to invest in projects confirmed by real production assets. 22 projects ready for implementation - waiting for their minority investors! We are not selling you a pen, we are selling you a finished, time-stable piece of work! Buy now - the future of generations! #EcoFriendly #GreenEconomy #circulareconomy #RenewableNaturalGas #Sustainability #Bioeconomy #VentureCapital #Privateequity Contacn us!
