🎉 It’s a wrap! A week of inspiration and innovation at A Sustainable Tomorrow and TechBBQ 2024 🌍 What an incredible few days it’s been, starting with A Sustainable Tomorrow in Helsingborg, where we dove deep into the theme of #Dissonance - exploring the gap between knowledge and action in sustainability. We heard from brilliant speakers like Kata Nylén on how we can transform dissonance into resonance to drive real change, and youth ambassador Andreas Magnusson, who emphasized the importance of intergenerational dialogue for climate action. The future of #sustainability looks bright, with so many innovative ideas and collaborations in the pipeline. Helsingborg Innovation District and HETCH, participated in TechBBQ, deep-diving into tech, innovation and the entrepreneurship! From inspiring keynotes to networking with some of the brightest minds in the startup ecosystem, the focus on technology as a key driver of sustainable development was clear. The energy and forward-thinking solutions presented at TechBBQ are sure to leave a lasting impact on the future of tech and sustainability. These events have highlighted one clear message: innovation and sustainability must go hand in hand as we tackle the challenges of tomorrow. 💡 Looking forward to continue building on the insights and connections made! If we missed each other, feel free to reach out to us! 🌟 Reflecting on the World Open Innovation Conference 2024 🌟 The World Open Innovation Community held its annual conference on 6 and 7 November. Judging from the massive online postings and comments of the attendees and speakers, the event was very successful. Marcel Bogers, Conference Chair, is proud: “We welcomed 165 attendees from 35 countries, with more than 100 presenters in over 50 sessions, truly representing a global engagement”, he says with pride, “We gathered a diverse group of innovators, researchers, and industry leaders to explore the latest trends and breakthroughs in open innovation.” “The conference offered insightful keynotes by Henry Chesbrough, Carliss Baldwin, and Tim Luker, a panel on open innovation in the healthcare ecosystem, with a.o. Nobel prize winner Randy Schekman, and interactive workshops, all aimed at fostering knowledge sharing between research and practice. We explored topics such as the human side of open innovation, the dynamics of innovation ecosystems, and the societal impact of collaborative approaches. For me personally, it was particularly inspiring to see how open innovation can address grand challenges and drive sustainable development.” Next year’s conference will be in Bilbao, Spain. Visiting Munich not only to drink but also to explore technology with nexxworks and EXPO REAL (Messe München). Just had an exciting time serving as a jury member for the EXPO REAL Impact Awards 2024! I reviewed 12 submissions, but I couldn't help but feel that more focus is needed on initiatives with community or social impact—especially after also missing initiatives on that field at the Brussels Realty event. Many of the submissions were SaaS products solving problems that already have solutions or, frankly, seemed like a solution in search of a problem. One standout for me was Paebbl, which is tackling a major challenge: the use of carbon negative raw materials as we approach our sustainability limits. This is exactly the type of big-picture solution we need. Let's focus on solving the real, large-scale problems—we seem to be putting a lot of effort into the last 20%, while the largest 80% impact - our use of raw materials) still demands our attention. A huge thank you to Dirk Paelinck and the European PropTech Association for organizing the event so efficiently and for shining a light on startups making real impact. 🙌 Backed by leading industry partners and European institutions, the Impact Awards are set to become the benchmark for recognizing meaningful change in the sector. Let's tackle the big challenges together and drive meaningful innovation for a better future! 🌍 #ImpactAwards #PropTech #Innovation #Sustainability #EXPOREAL #CommunityImpact

My Christmas wish? I wish #HundrEDorg and the changemakers they identify had a louder voice around the globe and in the world of business as well! Why is education a business for companies? Where will talents arrive from in the talent pools without a proper education and a safe childhood? How do we expect innovators to be raised in a 100+ year-old education system? How will young adults with anorexia, panic attacks, and attention problems deliver what companies expect from them? Can they leave a generation behind without proper help? There is help. There are innovations and innovators in education who are putting tremendous effort into the kids and fighting to ensure that no child is left behind. Companies can be the link to bridge the gap between the unmatched education needs of kids and the innovators who have the solution but struggle to reach the children.
And that's a wrap on the HundrED Innovation Summit 2024! 🎉 Thank you to everyone - innovators, community members, and new friends - for bringing your energy, passion, and hopeful spirits to Helsinki this week. We are grateful that we can continue to bring inspiring innovators together every year. Your dedication to ensuring that every child can flourish is invigorating, and is a testament to the power of collaboration, community, and continuous innovation to shape the futures of education. We feel all the more hopeful knowing that there are changemakers like you continuing to doing incredible work. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU. Until next time, The HundrED Team 💜 #HundrEDSummit

Cross Innovation – using artistic tools and methods in industry, business, or public administration – can bring about substantial societal change when implemented. However, so far, we have mainly been talking about cross innovation, exploring it from a theoretical/academic perspective. We believe the time has come to start doing, to implement concrete projects on a larger scale. To make cross innovation a standard and unavoidable part of the innovation operations of any company or public body. 27th March 2025, the 2nd edition of Cross Con will start doing exactly that, in Subtopia, Botkyrka, from morning to evening. Book the day already now! https://lnkd.in/dscWf7Yj

Last week, I had the honor of being invited to Sweden’s largest innovation award, the Stiftelsen SKAPA Prize, to share our journey with Nano Textile Solutions since winning the National SKAPA Prize in 2022. It was an incredible opportunity to reflect on the milestones we’ve achieved so far and to present them to an inspiring audience, hoping to create an experience for them to build their companies/innovations in their respective markets. The audience included regional SKAPA Prize winners—visionary entrepreneurs with exciting and promising companies from across the country. Their stories left me deeply inspired and hopeful for Sweden’s innovation landscape. I was especially thrilled to see this year’s National SKAPA Prize go to another textile innovation. It’s a powerful reminder that Sweden is not bound by limitations; we have the capacity to create sustainable solutions that can transform entire industries globally. Congratulations to Åsa Strandberg from Respin Jenny, whose groundbreaking technology recycles fibers without chemicals or water, giving them a new life in a truly circular textile process. 🌟 Congratulations to all the participants— as Minoo Hilda Akhtarzand so beautifully said, “Everyone here is a winner.” A special thanks to Maroun Aoun for having me on stage. 🙏 The future is bright for Sweden’s innovators, and I am excited to see how these ideas will shape a more sustainable world. #Innovation #Sustainability #SKAPA #TextileInnovation #CircularEconomy #NanoTextileSolutions #Sweden

Today I'm participating in Sweden Innovation Days, where I look forward to gaining new insights and case studies from one of the world's strongest #ecosystems for innovation. This year, the focus is on innovating for #resilience. #Sweden has long been recognised for its vibrant #innovation ecosystem, and one aspect that particularly interests me is the building of ecosystems across corporate companies, deep tech startups, universities, and funding agencies. In my work, I'm focusing on fostering collaboration across stakeholders to address pressing challenges. 📌Are you curious about building resilient systems and reducing the climate impact of supply chains? 📌How does growth and profitability correlate with sustainability? 📌How can we use technologies like #cleantech, #biosolutions, #quantumtech or #AI to drive innovation and sustainable practices? I'm excited about the lineup of speakers, which represents a strong setup of thought leaders and industry experts: Beata Wickbom Joakim Skog Ylva Strander Niklas Laninge Minna Sandberg Regina Summer Rémy Kolessar Caroline Asserup (Hellberg) Anna Hammarberg Britta Fängström Ebba Busch Benjamin Horton Lisen Schultz Darja Isaksson Johan L Kuylenstierna Robert Andrén Marie Claesson Lotta Henrysson Martin Sangve Malin Wilson Anders Berger Fredrik Dolff Roger Göthberg Claes Johansson Wilma Emanuelsson Mikael Prytz Ylva Hansdotter Lars Hammarström Ebba Carbonnier Jules Besnainou Erika Sundell Jenny Gustafsson David Jonason Jakob Hellman Isabelle Sjövall Maria Brogren Eva Nahari Helena Bjarnegård, and more. https://lnkd.in/dHZaknsB
