🌱 Driving Sustainability at the Biosolutions High Level Summit 2024 in Copenhagen! 🌱 Yesterday, our Chief Scientific Officer, Kelly Mulder, had the privilege of taking the stage at Biosolutions High Level Summit 2024 at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen. Organized by the The Danish Chamber of Commerce - EU & International, Alliance for Biosolutions, Novo Nordisk Foundation, Danish Industry, and the European Biosolutions Coalition, this event brought together leading minds to discuss the future of biosolutions across Europe. In her presentation, Kelly introduced Bon Vivant’s mission, innovative technology, and our public policy perspective, emphasizing the role of precision fermentation as a strategic net-zero biomanufacturing technology. By producing sustainable dairy proteins, Bon Vivant directly supports the dairy industry’s net-zero goals, positioning our technology as a key factor in its decarbonization. 🌍 The event offered an inspiring platform to connect with industry leaders, including Ester Baiget (CEO at Novonesis), Dr. Jennifer Maria Cords (Lidl International), and Dirk Carrez (Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC), all united by the drive to accelerate sustainable innovation across Europe. Fall might be here and it is darker outside but the biosolutions agenda is blooming 🌱 Our scale-up member 21st.BIO made it to the cover of Danish newspaper Berlingske Business yesterday stating that their biosolutions technology to produce among other fascinating products proteins for milk without cows could be the next big export adventure for Denmark. This is the case for biosolutions all over Europe. They can be the next big green adventure helping to reduce emissions and achieve our green goals AND increase European resilience and competitiveness and create new green jobs 💪 However some grey clouds are looming 🌧️ 21st Bio got an approval to go to market in the US this year but it will take several years to get approval in the EU. We need to change this with the coming EU Biotech Act 🇪🇺🤝 And in addition they/we need a factory to make their ambitions happen. Preferably in Denmark. But who will chip in and help finance such a facility? Important challenges which we will keep working to adress both in DI Bio and the European Biosolutions Coalition It might be a marathon but we will keep going 🏃♀️➡️

B is for Biosolutions 🌱 and B is for Berlin 🌱 The potential of Biosolutions was clearly recognized in Berlin, Germany this week, where our partner, BIO Deutschland co-organised, a diverse group of stakeholders across ministries, companies, research, and organisations to discuss how biosolutions can strengthen Europe’s sustainability, resilience and competitiveness. Companies from Germany and Denmark AMSilk GmbH | Biotech Materials, @Planet A Food, Corden BioChem GmbH, Innocent Meat , Matr Foods, Novonesis, clearly showed that the solutions are already there, but ⛔ regulatory red tape need to be removed 🔨 large scale up facilities build, and 💰 finance made available for them to stay and/or grow in Europe. The importance was underscored by Dr. Christine Lang, member of the Coalition’s governance board who stated: “We must do everything we can to preserve our livelihoods while remaining economically strong and independent. Biosolutions are the appropriate key to this.
