Connecting with the Future of MedTech at Medical Technology Ireland 2024! Wow – what an amazing two days at Medical Technology Ireland 2024! Our team, including Lisa Higgins and Bhavya Bhatia, had the privilege of attending this year's event at Galway Racecourse. It was a whirlwind of innovation, networking, and inspiration, with more than 300 exhibitors and a jam-packed conference schedule. From the moment the doors opened on the first day, the energy was electric! We had insightful conversations with top industry professionals, specialists, and peers who are not only passionate about MedTech but are actively shaping its future. The topics on the table were exciting and forward-thinking – everything from artificial intelligence and sustainability to supply chain management and talent development in MedTech manufacturing. We were especially impressed by the Women in MedTech Forum – a highlight on the second morning that sparked meaningful discussions about diversity and leadership in the industry. It's moments like these that remind us how important it is to foster an inclusive community within MedTech. As recruiters specialising in MedTech, it's vital for us to stay ahead of these trends, not just for ourselves, but for our clients and candidates. We recognise how essential it is to be part of the conversation – to understand where the industry is heading so we can help prepare our candidates for the roles of tomorrow. In our latest 'Priorities for Government' recommendations, we've made sustainability a core pillar, recognising its growing importance for Ireland’s future and our alignment with key EU Green Deal priorities. Among other things, we are calling on Government to support industry-driven #dataspaces for #manufacturing using initiatives such as #Manufacturing-X and the #DigitalProductPassport4.0 (DPP4.0) which can be used to combine #compliance with #regulatory requirements and new data-driven #businessmodels.

This week, I joined the Roche team and some of our partners at the health.tech conference in Munich. It was an incredible experience to be around a lot of talented and game-changing individuals and organisations. I have some takeaways from the last two days and I want to share a few of them below: First, there’s incredible innovation happening in Europe. I’ve had a glimpse of the new technologies, solutions, and ideas, which gives me the excitement knowing that the innovative mindset remains heavily in health care. Second, what was also clear was that challenges in getting start-ups to deploy and scale are still very pertinent. Whether regulatory or compliance hurdles or  access to customers and buyers - start-ups face a long road ahead to get their technologies to patients and health systems. Third, as mentioned in my keynote on the first day, my message was clear to start-ups –do not reinvent the wheel. Start-ups should  work with established organisations, such as Roche. With our expertise, customer base and experience - we can give you the support you need to deploy and scale. So, let’s collaborate – come to talk to me or the Roche team and let’s start a discussion! As a last note, I’d also like to give a big thanks to the Roche team and our partners who joined us during the previous two days.
