A few years ago, Johannes Tiefenthaler and Valentin Gutknecht (the original neustark #carboncowboys) embarked on a journey with a large orange container. Their mission? To tackle carbon emissions by mineralizing #CO2 in demolished concrete, thus permanently removing it from the atmosphere. 🔒 Fast forward to 2024, neustark has now deployed 17 large-scale capture and #storage sites across Europe and is currently removing CO2 in: 🪨 Construction demolition material #CDM 🏭 Slags and bottom ashes 💧 Concrete slurry water We're constantly exploring how to optimize our technology and impact. As well as investigating other related paths of permanently storing CO2. 🔬 One of our current projects at the moment: Project ACCSESS, an EU-funded #research scheme, to demonstrate alkaline industrial waste recarbonation, aka indirect carbonation. And for that we say hello 👋🏼 again to our orange container that we used in our 1st prototype... now repurposed for a new prototype in this R&D project led by Luca Tschurtschenthaler & team!

Analysis: Mark Kabbash's Journey from Wall Street to Sustainability Mark Kabbash, a seasoned entrepreneur and investor relations expert, has transitioned from Wall Street to leading sustainable innovation. As founder of a successful investor relations firm, he managed "dog and pony shows," handled 100% of investor inquiries, and drove significant growth for his clients. Reflecting on his experiences, he recognizes the importance of focusing on management ("the jockey") rather than just the product ("the horse"). His Wall Street expertise includes time on the American Stock Exchange and ringing the NASDAQ bell, milestones that honed his understanding of capital markets. Now, as CEO of The Dandy Horse, Inc., Kabbash combines his passion for cycling with innovation. The company’s patented product, VIDAT (Verification, Inspection, Demonstration, Analysis, Testing), sets a new standard in sports tracking by eliminating fraud and ensuring accountability. More than a tracking tool, VIDAT highlights the bicycle as the world’s most efficient carbon reducer, emitting just 34 grams of CO2 per mile compared to a car’s 400 grams. This data supports the creation of Carbon Avoidance Credits, unlocking new revenue streams for municipalities and businesses. Kabbash envisions The Dandy Horse as a public company, with ringing the NYSE bell as a near-term goal. By combining cutting-edge technology, ESG alignment, and a proven leader at the helm, The Dandy Horse is poised to transform bicycle commuting into a tool for environmental and financial impact. Join the ride and invest in a vision where sustainability and profitability intersect.

#VIDAT, from The Dandy Horse, Inc. serves as a catalyst for smart cities by bridging the gap between sustainable transportation and data-driven urban management. Its ability to provide verified, actionable insights not only enhances infrastructure and environmental outcomes but also fosters a more engaged and healthier community. By integrating VIDAT, cities can take a significant step toward becoming smarter, greener, and more responsive to the needs of their residents. #greentech #proptech National League of Cities U.S. Department of Transportation National Caucus of Environmental Legislators

Profile In Innovation: Following the Swedish Way-How TermoDeck is on a mission to change the way we build. “Canada today is like Sweden in 1995,” Ghassan Nimry says. The Director of Eco-Structures International and a partner in the Swedish-owned TERMODECK INTERNATIONAL LIMITED a revolutionary building technology that is slowing gaining a foothold in North America after decades in the European and Middle Eastern markets, is refreshingly frank when it comes to regulatory practices in the North American building industry. “When I showed [my Scandinavian partners] apartment buildings where the fresh air is next to zero, they said that should be illegal.” Read the profile: https://ow.ly/Afji50QKcPB #passivehousecanada #buildbetter #buildpassivehouse

Electrification and Autonomy are main drivers when developing next generation moving working machines. Without electric powertrain this machine structure would be hard to achieve and usability of the machine would not be on same level. #electrification #autonomy #mining #sleipner #huld
Exciting news alert! 👇 Together with Sleipner Finland Oy, we helped to develop a fully electric and autonomous transport system—an emission-free innovation designed for moving mining and construction equipment safely and efficiently. 🌍🔋 Check it out: https://lnkd.in/deHdGbyj “Cooperation with Huld has been smooth and easy. They've provided the right expertise at every step, helping us avoid the biggest pitfalls," says Teijo Höylä, CTO, Sleipner Finland. With user-orientation, safety, and sustainability at the forefront, this new generation transport system sets a high standard for the future of heavy machinery. 🚜✨ #sleipnerfinland #autonomousvehicles #sustainabledesign #greentech #huld #beyondtomorrow

Climeworks, a Swiss start-up, opened the biggest carbon direct air capture plant (36,000 metric tons of carbon each year = 8,600 cars). It sells offsets based on that captured carbon. It doesn’t publicly say how much it charges its big corporate customers, including Microsoft, Shopify and Stripe, for the service — but it offers regular people carbon removal subscriptions at a price of $1,500 per metric ton of carbon removed. More than 20,000 people have signed up, according to the company’s website. As more carbon removal plants pop up and get bigger, experts hope, the costs will fall closer to $100 per ton, which is the target price many start-ups are aiming for, Lackner said.

Please forgive Xavier van Slooten, his selfie skills need some work... 😅 Nic Pannekeet and Xavier had an excellent discussion with Simone Callioni about potential synergies between PureTerra Ventures and Aquatech. We explored several key topics, including the growing importance of Zero Liquid Discharge in industrial projects and some of the exciting initiatives Simone is currently working on with Aquatech. At PureTerra, we’re conducting a deep dive on this topic, and have seen multiple technologies that focus on this space. It was great to exchange insights on the technologies emerging in this space. It’s always great to connect with like-minded individuals who value technological innovation and disruption like we do. This conversation offered valuable insights that will help us in identifying best-in-class technologies, furthering our mission: Clean Water for All.
