We’re proud to be partnering with the Centre for Mental Health in the launching of the, 'Mapping the Mental Health of the UK's Young People' report. Mapping mental health across the UK is critical in improving our understanding of mental health among UK young people and in better targeting support and prevention - so that we can turn the tide on the mental health crisis. As our very own, Lynne Green, Chief Clinical Officer at Kooth Digital Health (United Kingdom), explains within the report: “Young people’s chances of good or poor mental health are shaped by the places they live in and the support available to them. By understanding the levels of need, steps can be taken to prevent problems whenever possible, and provide support wherever and however it’s needed." Our new data map reveals stark disparities in children's mental health across the four UK nations - and underscores the need for urgent action to turn this around. Drawing from the latest data, our new data map with Kooth Digital Health (United Kingdom) shows the prevalence of mental health difficulties across the UK, including rates of eating disorders and self-harm, hospital admissions and secondary care referrals, and wider factors such as loneliness, school absence and bullying. Visualising data in these maps can help schools, health services and local councils to understand the mental health needs of the children and young people they serve. 💡 Explore the tool: https://lnkd.in/ey5EtHCJ #YoungPeople #ChildrensMentalHealth #MentalHealth

1moThank you, Kooth Digital Health (United Kingdom), for spotlighting this critical report with the Centre for Mental Health. Mapping young people’s mental health is vital for addressing regional disparities and improving access to care. That said, I’d like to gently challenge the scope. While Kooth offers a valuable platform, are we doing enough to provide deeper therapeutic interventions beyond initial support? Digital solutions are essential but often serve as a bridge rather than a destination. To truly tackle the mental health crisis, we must integrate intensive therapeutic models like evidence-based talking therapies and ensure seamless transitions to face-to-face care when needed. Young people’s mental health depends on the depth of therapeutic relationships and diverse interventions. I’d love to see Kooth expand in this direction. #MentalHealthMatters #YoungPeople #DigitalTherapy
