Briefly, these are the main points to look at when entering a diving center: . inquire about staff certifications and experience levels . inspect equipment maintenance practices . observe the cleanliness and organisation of facilities . are they taking you to any depth or the one you are certified for? . is there an oxygen tank on board, and is the capacity sufficient to cover the need to get back on shore . do you feel the safety parameters are respected?

Last week I had the privilege of attending and speaking at the USCG Sector Delaware Bay SPV Industry Night on the upcoming regulatory changes around Safety Management System (SMS) and the Streamlined Inspection Program (SIP). Recent events in the marine industry have triggered the Fire Safety IFR and this is accelerating the movement towards the requirement of SMS for SPV and PVs. Bringing a digital solution to the marine industry that supports the SMS/SIP is my top priority. I want to concentrate on what’s happening now and how we can prevent things from happening in the future, whether it’s a minor boating violation or something major safety-wise. We all have the same goal, and that’s boating safety. We, Vessel Vanguard, created our SMS/SIP support module with the goal of making it easy. Our system provides a custom SMS structure for ANY operator that can be formatted in MINUTES. Excited to be a part of the movement forward in this incredible industry. #uscg #pva #spv #sms #sip #safetymanagement #vesselvanguard #tugboats #barges #yachtsafety #trawlersafety

𝗗𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗔𝗻 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗶𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮 𝟭 𝗪𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝘆 A dry docking means taking a vessel out of service. She will be off hire and cannot move cargo or earn freight. Much planning ahead is needed so that, as well as securing the best pricing, her managers get her in, secure verified performance of the work and return her to charter service as soon as possible, and optimally as regards her trading. This means detailed liaison between and among the various parties in the network commonly called the vessel interests, together with the yard itself, suppliers, tugs, pilots and all related regulatory and other authorities, and of course the vessel's crew. It also needs impeccable daily organisation during what can often be several weeks on the blocks, while everyone works together as repairs and upgrades are done and inspection and certification are performed, alongside the cleaning, blasting, repainting and refreshing that is usually the most visible sign of a dry docking. In addition to the extensive arrangements and hard physical work involved, a dry docking provides a unique opportunity for the crew to come together ashore, capturing memories and celebrating their achievements. Equally important, it allows the owners' representatives to step on board, observe the ongoing work, and engage in discussions with the vessel’s superintendent and ship staff. This collaboration further reinforces the bond of trust that serves as the cornerstone of the partnership between the owners and their vessel’s technical manager. As usual, all these things were much in evidence recently with one of Synergy's managed product tankers, before, during and immediately after her visit to China's Fuzhou Hudong shipyard from 19 August to 13 September. For the 'GREAT WHITE,' we are delighted to share a collage capturing camaraderie and teamwork as the vessel prepares to resume service. It’s an efficient pit stop—one that even the fast-paced, precision-driven world of Formula 1 would envy—featuring contented owners’ representatives mingling with happy and skilled officers and crew after a series of meticulously executed jobs. #WeAreSynergy

Safety is the most important aspect when detailing the Amonia rooms. Most of the times the mechanics are the ones to clean these areas but we have enough training and experience to takle such tasks.
