What uniqueness does being an artist/teacher celebrate about you?
Questions can be super powerful. I love this one about what about what you do now, celebrates your uniqueness. It tends to stump some guests, but it does a couple of things well:
🎉 It gets them to celebrate their own uniqueness.
🎁 It helps them recognise what sharing that gift to the world can entail.

This article has some simple advice for starting and growing your art collection. The short of it: buy what you like, look for local artists. (There’s more great points to consider in the article.)
This is brilliant. It speaks directly to why culture and creativity need to be at the heart of #sustainabledevelopment. Culture is indeed « world changing. And fun ».
Self-Esteem Arts helps students to communicate and learn how to approach things differently using various arts forms all while building confidence.#ArtsInCT#AfterSchoolPrograms#confidencebuilding
Arts in CT offers a program called "Self-Esteem Arts" designed to assist students in our afterschool program in connecting with their emotions and developing self-confidence. Through various art forms such as visual arts and performing arts, we guide students in expressing their feelings and perceptions. Each day, students explore a concept and create visual representations of their emotions and perspectives. In the attached image, a young man depicted his view of the world by illustrating "Night and Day."
T4T (Thought For Today)
Discuss HONESTY and it's importance to artists, viewers of art, as a subject of art? What happens with it, without it? What might it look like? Is there a meaningful distinction between the results of honesty and dishonesty? Is honesty an absolute? Develop your own talking points. Try this but substituting another subject for visual arts.
Ted Dixon is an abstract artist with a continuing focus on creating paintings that encourages people to consider the space between… third and fourth, the chair and the table, black and dark, no and why not...
Abstract work is challenging for many people because it requires that you interpret the work for yourself. It means looking at the shapes, lines, colors and paint application to determine what feelings or thoughts, if any, the work elicits for you. Similar to music, two people can hear the same exact song yet have vastly different responses to it because they are each filtering the lyrics and rhythm through their separate frames of reference. In all candor, the same could be said for many figurative works. Abstract work isn’t more sophisticated than figurative works; it's simply a different artistic vehicle that Black artists can and should use.
