We usually connect #oceanliteracy with natural sciences but it is so much more than that! Recent focus in OL is moving towards marine social science and behavioural change. Art has also an important role in this. There is still time to submit an abstract and share your stories, good practice, research data and much more. Submit your abstract by May 15th!

🌊 Calling all artists, social scientists, economists, anthropologists, and cultural studies professionals passionate about ocean literacy, marine education, and ocean conservation! 🌍 Are you working on ocean literacy with a focus on art, culture, or social perspectives? Or perhaps you're an ocean professional exploring the broader impact of oceans on cultures or art? If so, we invite you to submit an abstract to our Ocean Literacy beyond Natural Sciences session at the EMSEA Annual Conference 2024 in Zadar, Croatia at the end of September. Ocean literacy extends beyond natural marine sciences, integrating knowledge from diverse fields such as geography, history, economics, and law. This session welcomes abstracts exploring cultural and artistic expressions contributing to ocean literacy, economic, geopolitical, and legal dimensions of ocean literacy, historical perspectives and narratives shaping our understanding of the seas, and more. 📆 The abstract submission deadline is May 15, 2024. Don't miss out on this opportunity to shape the future of ocean education and sustainable development! 🐳 👉 Learn more about this theme and others, and submit your abstract on our website 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g93PBBUS Let's come together to deepen our understanding of the oceans and their profound impact on our world. #EMSEA #OceanLiteracy #BeyondNaturalSciences #Conference2024 #ZadarCroatia 🎨📚🌊 University of Zadar 20 000 Leagues Marine Explorers Society
