Greece demonstrates its dominance in Horizon Europe by claiming 6 out of 10 top spots in the Widening countries' performance scale, with Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) notably leading the charge as a pinnacle of Greek research and innovation. Needless to say, Greece has some aces up its sleeves in securing funds from the Horizon Europe Widening program. The key strategy that allowed CERTH to climb the ladder and reach over €100 million in grants emphasizes the importance of: - aligning proposals with EU objectives - securing reliable partners - emphasizing project impact Another great example of a successful Horizon Europe performer, Estonia's University of Tartu sheds light on the benefits of building a dedicated grant office to support R&D funding. This surge in performance among Widening countries signals a significant improvement in their efforts to continuously secure more funds from the Horizon Europe Widening program. It's clear that their key strategies are working, driving their projects to winning positions. While there's no one-size-fits-all approach to securing every funding opportunity, these strategies offer valuable guidance. However, success demands a better understanding of each call and a deep dive into the innovation landscape to reach the full potential impact of ideas and stand out among all others. #HorizonEurope #ResearchFunding #Innovation https://lnkd.in/epJmxuzx

🚨 Joint Statement in Support of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) 🚨 A group of European research and innovation stakeholder organisations — Aurora, Cesaer, Coimbra Group, EPSO, Eurotech, EU-Life, EUA, The Guild, ISE, LERU, MCAA, Science Europe and YERUN — have issued a joint statement calling for the recognition of the outstanding contribution of Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (MSCA) and for an increased budget to unlock its full potential. Indeed, while the MSCA’s achievements are impressive, and their tangible impact is undeniable, the programme is not mentioned in the main documents published recently in the run-up to the next framework programme. The Draghi report mentions it only incidentally, and it does not appear in President von der Leyen’s mission letters to the Executive Vice-President for People, Skills and Preparedness or the Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation designates. “The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions has been, for decades, part of the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation; it stands as the EU’s flagship programme for supporting doctoral and postdoctoral training through research and mobility.” Europe needs to prepare the next generation of researchers, which is exactly what MSCA does. As a member of Initiative for Science in Europe (ISE), the #EAA fully supports this initiative, which aligns with our core mission: promoting European coherence and empowering early career researchers — values deeply embedded in EAA's DNA. 👉 Download the full statement here: https://lnkd.in/gXhhSdSF #MSCA #Research #Europe
